*sighs* i'm worried about my cat jack....... he had to have ocular surgery yesterday because he had a corneal ulcer in his right was a result of an upper respiratory infection when he caught the cold that sassy had.  there was so much damage done to the eye that the doctor's not sure that the graft that he used to cover up the whole with will now his eye is all stitched up so that it hasa chance to heal...but if the graft doesn't take, then my poor baby is going to lose his eye.... we have to keep him in a crate (there's room for him to walk and we put food, water and a kitty box inside ) so he doesn't move around too much and jostle the eye...the doctor said to keep him from jumping and too keep him seperate from our two other cats, so now my poor baby is stuck inside of a crate he looks so pitiful in there with a cone collar around his neck! i want to cry whenever he mews because he just sounds so helpless and pitiful and there's NOTHING i can do about it!!! it hurts even more since he looks at me with nothing but love, trust and confusion in his would be easier if he was angry with me for locking him up in the crate, but he doesn't  .......sorry.....didn't mean to bring down the mood of the group...i'm just hoping that the more i talk about this, i'll feel's not working so far.........*sighs*  [ send green star]

Don't worry about the eye! I knew two cats that only had one eye and one tooth and they survived. I also have a boston terrier (pix on my profile) that is deaf and was born that way. She is only a year old and functions great.. her other senses work over time for her!

As for the feelings of seeing your cat in such a state I can relate and I am so sorry that you and your cat have had to go through this. BUT!! Rest assure he will be OK!!

to you and your cat!!

Hi, Girls!! February 10, 2006 10:49 PM

Sorry I havn't been here much lately... I have been SO busy!!  School, work, school, work, school, school, sleep, work...

To make matters worse... My car broke down on me last week at one in the morning as I was on my way home from work... And then I was told by my mechanic that it was dead.(Meaning that is would cost more to fix it then it would to just buy a new car...) I'm holding a funeral for it later this weekend...

I hope everything is going well... Valentine's Day is coming up! I'm excited, but I don't know why... But just to let everyone know... I'm NOT DEAD!.... Just my car is...

Aida.. Jack will be great in no time!! You can make him a patch and call him Pirate Jack!! Will make him look like a little bad-ass running through the house ... sorry if its too early for joking but I wanted to lighten up the situation. Rest assure that he will get used to it in no time. Animals adapt to thing a lot faster and easier than us humans!!

a for Jack.. did you have a funeral too?

lol,'re like the 5th person to suggest the eye-patch to me. well, in actuality, jack WAS named for captain jack sparrow from 'pirates of the carribean'....since the eye that was removed was on the wonky-side anyway, he reminded me of a pirate, so i just named him for the pirate that i liked ^_^ i think the eye-patch would be's just a matter of keeping it on, he's doing MUCH better by the way....the staples come out of his eye in two weeks.  [ send green star]
