The People of Earth Group was established on January 3rd 2006. It is meant to be a meeting place for people from all over the world to meet and discuss global issues. The People of Earth group sprung from the "People of Earth Ratifying the Kyoto Protocol" Petition. One of its goals is to create international lobbies for Global Issues. You are invited to chat and enjoy in our hetrogenic group. meet people learn about issues and make a stand. In the future, as the group will grow, we will cast votes on issues that we'd like to comment about together as a whole.  [ send green star]

Hello all and welcome. I'm glad to have you here. The development of the last few days has brought me to opening this group. The group, as I view it will of course deal with the current petition encouraging people to ratify Kyoto, but it will also deal with other world issues. I think that a group of people who truely care for the world and are willing to take action can do much change in the world. Some of you are already hosts of other groups and already brought up global issues in your hosted groups. Please feel free to bring these posts here and we can all discuss them. I wish that this group will be able to find more common goals and work together to achieve them. Thank you!  [ send green star]

I like the aims of this group and will help out wherever I can. I think the first step in dealing with global issues is in discussing them and finding ways forward… We need more groups like ‘People of Earth’.
