Thank You for Considering the Henry County Animal Control Saving one Animal at a time. Each one counts. Thank You Dear Rescue Worker - At Henry County Animal Control, it is our goal to see that every animal that comes into our shelter is either reunited with it’s family or adopted to a new loving forever home. One way to help us to achieve this goal is to work with rescue organizations. Our shelter is very “rescue friendly” and encourage those associated with such groups to visit us in person or on line at to find pets currently housed with us that you would be willing to take under your organization’s wing. For our shelter to work with a rescue group, we must follow Georgia State laws regarding such organizations. All animal rescue organizations within the state of Georgia must maintain a current animal shelter license, obtained through the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Animal Protection Division. The license holder is subject to periodic inspections by employees of the Georgia Department of Agriculture. All out of state animal rescue organizations that take animals from Georgia must also maintain a current animal shelter license, obtained through the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Animal Protection Division. In addition, the out of state rescue must have an in-state person designated as the license holder for the organization that can be inspected by employees of the Georgia Department of Agriculture. If your organization is not licensed, we encourage you to do so. For information regarding licensing, please contact the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Animal Protection Division at (404) 656-4914. You may obtain a copy of the Department’s rules regarding licensure on line at In order for a rescue group to take animals from Henry County Animal Control, we must have a current copy of the group’s license on file in out department. We also need a letter from your group advising us who is authorized to pull animals under that license. Rescue organizations are not charged an adoption fee.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
