What's Whale Call Cafe? January 19, 2006 2:28 PM

Whale Call Cafe has been formed to be a springboard into Care2's extensive Marine orientated Environment groups.

Here, you will meet some of the fearless group leaders and get an insight into what their groups are about, you will be able to access current Marine News as it happens thru the dedicated post threads, and get connected to expertise in many Marine issues.

Hosts and members are encouraged to link their blogs and shares to the home page, but please keep the group free of ---

Topics relating to sex, religion [unless specific to conservation] and politics not related to oceanic conservation.

Usurpers will be removed from group –

Flamers will also not be tolerated – and either removed or given a probationary period in ‘the corner’

Now go learn and have fun --start your own threads, sit back, kick back--

wierd thread system? January 21, 2006 3:43 AM

i have deliberately set up news threads and comment threads -- the purpose of this, is so hosts of other groups can access, cut and paste news without having to sort out the replies  -- if you have news, please post it in the appropriate thread -- if it doesnt fit, ask a host where it should go --this will avoid you getting 'your post has been deleted' emails :}  [ send green star]

Thank you Boris!  I have an immediate need for anyone on the east coast of USA who might be willing to give some time to the plight of the critically endangered right whale.  There are less than 350 of these magnificent creatures left ON THE PLANET.  At the present rate of decline, they will be extinct within one hundred and ninety one years. You can learn more about our organization, Cetacean Society International, at www.csiwhalesalive.org

Thank you for the opportunity to blog with kindred spirits. Patty

no probs patricia -- Cetacean Society International February 03, 2006 3:06 PM

certainly -- thats what whale call cafe is for --linking groups and interested people -- if you would like, you should start a thread in here called 'Cetacean Society International' to put your requests and news in, and to advertise your group.  [ send green star]

new front page feature February 03, 2006 10:03 PM

congrats care2 for the front page news feature -- up to date daily environment, science & technology, and world news items can now be found on the whale call cafe homepage.

this is an awesome way to get your news out -- i posted a story i found on depleted uranium, and in 22 hrs, it had made the front page  -- if you have news flashes [on line] that you submit to the front page news, let us know by also posting in the daily news thread so we can go vote for your article to get front page status

Whale Call grows May 05, 2006 5:06 PM

Thanks to Care2's and Whale Call members P.R. skills, Whale Call has grown from an inkling of an idea a year ago, to an active Conservation group.

The genisis in the care2 group Whale Sense has led to Whale Call Cafe, and www.whalecall.org

We are now registered as a N.F.P., N.G.O. Whale Call Incorporated, and are in a position to take on 50 founding members to allow us to register as a Charity.

For those who would like to financially support Whale Call, please consider going to the following link.

http://www.whalecall.org/join.htm

For those who would like to get more involved in the day to day functions of Whale Call, and would like to brush up on the background, please apply to join Whale Sense -- the group is not very active now, but the archives will tell you our path from then to now.

http://www.care2.com/c2c/group/Whale

and its full of data on oceanic matters.

Whale Call Cafe, and the directors and staff of Whale Call -- Gayle, Vicki, Tony, Barry, and myself being the on line face, and Debs, Rick, and Jordan being in the background to advise with their various skills base, welcome you to Whale Call --

I have never seen a Whale September 17, 2008 8:01 PM

I have never seen a Whale

Consider Whales luckey

Because they never saw me

If I would see one

What good would it do

my presence will not save it

but my time and action and money might

So Whales be free

and know you have a friend in me(end)

Friends feel free to use or inprove this bunch of word of mine

Nice to Be Here
