Hello everyone! Janet, darlin, thanks for the invite!

I hope that this group really takes off because it is a fantastic idea. If I can scrape together 2 dollars (or maybe more) a month, anyone can!

So many friends here already...for those of you that don't know me, I'm Terrie, I live in Texas, I have 5 dogs, no kids, married and at the moment unemployed. I do a lot of activism for American Pit Bull Terriers aka pit bulls and just about anything else that walks, crawls or swims. I also am active for humanitarian causes. So that's a little about me!

Glad to be here!

Hello everyone.

Thank you Janet for the invitation.

My name is Sharon.  I have two dogs at this time.  Bijou is an American Staffordshire Terrior and the other is her daughter, Daisy who is an American Stafforshire Terrior/Bassett Hound.  Yes, a unique combination and loads of fun!  I call her my Bassett Bull or Crazy Daisy Dog!

I would have more if room allowed for them.  I have two grown (human) children and donate to several charities including HSUS and Defenders of Wildlife.  I can certainly do $2.00 a week and I think this is a wonderful idea!

Thanks for the invitation Kristy July 28, 2006 5:38 PM

Thanks for the invitation Kristy.  I see some people I already know.  Hey all you animal lovers...

I live in Central Florida with my hubby and baby, Beulah Mae, who is a rescue that tested heart worm positive last August.  We are treating her with Heartguard and she seems to be doing well.  She is the sweetest thing.  Oh, I also have 2 grown daughters who are both married and 3 grandbabies.

So, where do I send my money? ? ?  Cash? Check? Just let me know.  I think it's a wonderful idea, and I will do what I can.  I am out of work, but can come up with at least that every month.

Thanks for having me.  Anything you want to know about me, just ask or look on my page. I'm an open book.  LOL

Thanks Janet D. for the invite!  This is a very worthwhile group!

Hi everyone!  I'm Ronda from Illinois.  I have 8 rescues. 2 dogs and 6 cats, and a bearded dragon.  I'm expecting a puppy any day now from Waverly, MS.  I actively fight BSL and do everything I possibly can to help animals everywhere.  Needless to say, we are always broke at the end of every month.

Hi everyone.  My name is Kim I am owned by 4 okay 5 including the foster (who I think is gonna stay lol) cats.  All were feral and I caught them doing TNR.  Problem is we don't release too many lol.  We find homes for most but there have been only a handful that had to go back out.  I also have a 5 foot iguana, Stimpy, she was also a rescue.  Not to worry the cats and iguana are never allowed in contact with each other.

I was invited by Janet and Peggy, thank you two very much.  I think this is a great idea!!

Hello August 16, 2006 9:14 PM

Hello everyone   What a wonderful idea for a group...such a small easy tangible way to make a real difference   I live in a large stone farmhouse built in 1763 which I share with 8 rescued cats (7 inside 1 outside) , a rescued mouse (fell out of his nest and down our attic stairs!) , 2 rescued turtles and probably lots of other animals I don't even know about!

Nice to meet all of you!    Emily

Hello......... August 27, 2006 12:01 AM

I'm new here.  I just made my first donation.

I live in Port Orchard, Wa., originally from Los Angeles.  I have a wonderful husband and beautiful daughter. We have a Lab/pointer mix and five miniature dachshunds, two smooth and three longhairs.  We also have a blue crowned conure named Ozzy, a quaker parrot named Candy and seven cockatiels.  We have a 60 gallon aquarium that has angel fish and silverdollars, a 55 gallon with four large goldfish, (two of them were 12 cent feeder fish.  Now their 8 inches long), and another 55 with a shark catfish and a puffer.

I'm very happy to be a part of the group.

Emily, Jan & Sophia -

Very glad to have all of you here!!

I try to keep up with this as much as possible and post animals in need. Currently, there is a pit bull I just posted. The rescue that has taken him in needs some help with the medical expenses - they believe he was punched, kicked, something, in the face. The vet's info is posted, as well as a Paypal address. And this is a VERY legitimate rescue - EBBRR.

Sophia, I've been to Ground Zero... a very sobering moment. I can't imagine having been there that day, but I will never forget. Nor will my husband, who is currently on his 2nd tour of Afghanistan. He volunteered to go right after it happened.

Wishing you ALL a very Merry Christmas!

Welcome and Introductions December 17, 2006 9:13 PM

Hi, everyone!  Janet, thanks for the invite!  I'm Jen from CT.  My current animal pals include my 11 1/2 year old golden retriever - my BEST friend in the world!  2 cats, 1 indoor (Scruff McGruff), & 1 barn cat (Buttercup) who refuses to live any more "indoors" than that.  (both are rescues)  Buttercup does, however, take care of 3 horses.   Actually, when we 1st brought home 1 of the horses as a philly, Buttercup slept in her stall w/ her.  Never saw anything cuter!

Well, just like the rest of you, I couldn't agree more that this is the smartest idea for a group.  $2 is so incredibly affordable!  I'd love to know if there are any "active" needs that are necessary.  Thanks, again!
