It's hard to keep posting here when no one bothers to read or respond.  You have to promote the site more.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

I agree.  How do I promote the site?  Is there a way besides just giving the link and/or inviting people?  Great suggestion...thank you!

Guess the problem is that there are many groups and one loses track of all or the single ones...

I keep checking the ones I co-host and have a look at the others when time is left (after responding the mesages...)

If there was a way of linking some groups together-at least when there is a common thread it woul be useful to have all the replies in one connection, just to follow up better-but I'm not good at Pc. If someone knows how to do it would be great to try!

Could this work?

questions........... August 18, 2006 10:10 PM

Hello, I am brand new.  I just joined.  I think part of the problem may be a lack of information offered on your site.  I think this is an outstanding idea for a group.  I would whole heartedly support a group like this by informing all my friends and family, etc.

There's just one thing stopping me. Possibly I am missing the right location, but I have searched your site looking for more information about your group, but have been unable to find anything.

I have a couple of questions, if you don't mind.  Are you actually connected to a non-profit group?  Who handles and distributes the donated monies?

I think I could do alot to help promote this through my family and friends, but I need more info please.

Thanks so much for your time.  Looking forward to hearing from you.  I really do love this idea.

Hi Jan -

We're glad you joined!  And this isn't a non-profit group, etc., it was a group created so that animals needing monetary help could be posted here and members could help.  None of the hosts actually take any money.  The donation is actually sent to the vet in charge of medical care or to the rescue (we verify this is a reputable one and the request is legitimate).  The money can be sent in using PayPal, mailing in a check, or credit card over the phone.   We TRY to post those that have a vet accepting money for them, but there ARE times when a vet WILL NOT do that for a rescue, believe it or not.

I have a suggestion:  when there isn't a case for a particular week, which might not be very often, what if a certain rescue was featured and donations could be made to them?  I know they can always use the funds and most of them are 501c3, so it would be tax-deductable.  ??  Thoughts??

Here's one.  They rescue disabled pets and give them a home for life there at the rescue.  Click on donation form.

Home for Life August 21, 2006 12:30 AM

Thanks, Ronda....I read every single word on the above site, Home for Life...They look like they are a great place...I'm going to call them tommorrow and sponsor a dog...It's a shame that we don't have thousands of these all over America...I never knew about these people...Can u post this link in the other groups? There's a german shepherd named Rita that is in a foster home right now...If a home can't be found for her, maybe she can go here...  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Oh, that's awesome, Ronda!  Anita just posted for a Maltese in need, so that can be the case for this week.
