Hi, I Sgt Howell 9:36 AM
Hi, My name is Sgt Howell, and all that I would like is a computer, because I fell or don't feel that I am getting any thing thats equal. I don't get to use the PX at the Miami VA,note I in a wheelchair and when I have asked the VA to do something about it they won't. THe people are just so rude, because I am in a wheelchair, they think that I am not equal to normal people. When I go out to a VA related fuction people are so rude, try it you will see that evey one in a wheel chair,is judged because of that I feel that this is wrong ,myself I won't to complte a boook called The Forgotten Soldier, and I have thought up 2 inventions to boot.  [ send green star
OKAY MEMBER VETERENS!

First off all Ken, WELCOME TO THE GROUP. i am giving you this thread so that Veterens like you and me, and others can say something. There is no veterens threads, I never thought of that. I am a Nam Vet-spent 1969-1971 across the pond. I was originally a 4.2 Morterman and was later assigned by battlefield Commission to Platoon Sergent-lurpp special ops team. We were behind enemy lines more as much as our own A.O. I feel like you, that many of our vets are not being treated right in our " so called Society and Veteran Hospitals"! I spent time at a vets hospital and all we were , were just lab rats. They gave us medicine we didn't even know, for stuff we never knew. Yes, I agree, folks in wheelchairs are treated like helpless little kids, hah, they would be surprised what they can do, I use to visit my fellow vets at the Veterens Hospitol here, then they decided to close it down and now we have to go to Indianapolis V.A., Now our great Governor; " Our Man Mitch" has closed down many places here for veterens, mental retarded, special ed programs, veterens programs, Eduational programs, senior citizens programs, etc. His latest thing is trying to close down Indinapolis V.A. Hospital! Which leaves th closest hospitol in Columbus Ohio or Chicago 's. They say " Veteens have evrything" If only people knew  the situation! Like you, one in a wheelchair can do many things. Although I am in no wheelchair now, it was not easy for me either. They use to treat us like "dummys" so my friend I know where you are coming from......

VFW Testifies Before Senate VA Committee

Washington, March 7, 2006 – The commander-in-chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. told the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee today that his organization wants to work with the Congress to ensure that the VA is properly funded without having to resort to enrollment fees and prescription co-payment increases to veterans with nonservice-connected disabilities.

“We want the VA system to work,” testified Jim Mueller, who leads the largest organization of combat veterans in the nation. “But that’s only going to happen if it is sufficiently funded in a timely manner so that programs will be in place for the veterans of today and tomorrow.”
