anonymous Welcome to the Group! May 11, 2006 9:06 AM

Honey, you need to have a thread like this and pin it in red!

I have a group Kitty Cree's Sexy Seniors and Juniors Unite and my co-host Lisa J. really has helped me with all of this computer and Care 2 stuff.

I am 74 years old and it is all new to me!

Kitty......  That's a bad plug!

But yes---a "welcome" thread is a good idea.

HI EVERYONE!!!

THANKS FOR JOINING!
Maybe together, we can work toward creating an understanding for the public on these beautiful and terribly misunderstood breeds.

It Doesn't Matter.... May 11, 2006 10:23 PM

...if I never had a pet pittie or was around them very much...

Then I met Doo, the pet pitbull baby of a friend from work. Sweet and gentle Doo became my friend, now deeply missed and forever remembered in my heart. Other pitbull angels are also remembered as heroes in many hearts... ~Ember~Magnum~Mooie~Mercy~ They Were Only Babies cruelly and mercilessly tortured by pure evil.

If you have a moment, please view my photo album "Sometimes God Cries"...pay your respects...say a prayer for them....send them your love...
send your love to those who care for them...let yourself find their sanctuary of simple peace and perfect surroundings...let yourself transcend the tragedy of their suffering.

They are the reasons we unite in this group...to voice their right to be here, to be respected, to be loved and to be valued for who they are.

So thanks Kathy G  for the inviting me here....

Hello May 23, 2006 1:12 PM

Hello from the Lake of the Ozarks.  My name is Linda. Thank you for inviting me to join your group.
My two wonderful sons are grown and have left the nest.   I now share my home with two dogs and three cats.  All of my critters, except one, came from the local no-kill animal shelter where I volunteer.
Sampson (Sammy) was a Wal-mart special.  He was suppose to be part beagle but grew to be a big boy of 68 lbs.  Several people have said they think he is part pit.  Sammy is the most loving, caring dog I have ever had.  He is a wonderful protector, he has a vicious bark and snarl but the truth is he is as gentle as a lamb.  He has never bitten anyone and meshes well with my other dog and three cats.
We have many lovely mixed breeds brought to the shelter.  Several are thought to be pit mixes.   We have to be sure not to mention pit in their descriptions because of the stigma that has been attached to the breed.  It is so unfair.

Hi folks!

I'm V.  I have personally never been owned by a pit bull, but I am a vet tech, and know a great many wonderful pits (and rotties and dobies and shepherds, etc).

My aunt and uncle share their home with 2 of the sweetest pit girls you'd ever want to meet.  Just big mushes.  Sadly, my aunt & uncle have to carry a 2 million dollar insurance policy (yep, you read that right) because of the girls' breed.  AND the girls are not allowed in public without muzzles.  Stupid town ordinances.  At least they haven't been outright banned...yet.

Makes ME want to bite some one...

Anyway, nice to be among more open-minded people!

Finding more and more good pit bull groups

I am the proud owner of an American Standerd Mastiff. Her name is Melony. She is the sweetest thing in our lives.

She has been raised with us since 4 months of age. She also thinks she is a cat. Our Cat Spice is 15 and is the Crone of the house.

I am happily married to my real life soul mate and Angel Gabriel, yes that is his name. Together we have 4 children. 1 girl 13 oldest, 3 boys 10, 6 and 4 going on 40 hahahaha we are expecting our 5th in December (yes we are crazy)

I hope to become more involved in learning how to prevent the damages towards these pets to continue. So I can be more boisterous and demanding of better education on these animals being a victime of the soceities bad side.

Peace and Love,

Margaret

More is the pitty! February 11, 2007 10:44 AM

Left so alone chained up born to fight. What is love what is food. All i know are growls and snarls. soon my time is up.Soon i will fight for my life.this is all I know.I am a pittbull born to live in misery and fight for my life.I will be dumped on the streets if I don`t fight.Perhaps there I will find the love I seek. What is love what is a family? My mother a provider of life tought me love a love I would love to share. My life if you can call it that is behind bars.I run on the treadmill chasing a kitten in a cage.I feel an urge to get that kitten crying in fear waking something deep inside me.A monster an urge to kill. This is how I survive this is how I live this is how I am abused. This is the plight of my breed.I am a pittbull bred for fighting all I want to learn and do is love. All I get are scars and death every hour of every day.help me find that love.Open your eyes help me be the pitt full of love the soft protector of my family.the house gaurdian and nursemaid for the young. The more is the pittie the plight of my breed.Give us a chance to show our loving hearts and not the killing face that we are forced because we are pittbulls the more the pittie. hi all out there I am also a proud owner of a staffordshire pit and her name is ISABELL she is the most sweet beautiful dog I have ever seen she loves to climb trees and chase bubbles. I have three children and I trust her with my life around those kids its funny I meet other dogs and I am very weary that they might hurt the kids but she is so patient.....the thing that irks me the most is when I walk down the street people get all scared like she is going to bite them or something I always try to tell them to" educate themselves " there is more to a pit bull than there bite!!!!

I hope that some day we can not turn on the news and see a pit bull attack!!!!

PEACE to all the lost ones  [report anonymous abuse]  [ accepted]

Hello Group! July 14, 2008 9:55 PM

I am so excited to be a part of this awesome group! I own two pit bulls- Shady (8 years old) and Stasher (Shady's son) who is 6 and a half...although I have had Shady since she was born she was a rescue pup in that if I didn't take her the ignorant soul who had breed her would have sold her to anyone who was interested in fighting dogs...I took action against him as well and aided in the rescue of Shady's mother and the other pups in Shady's litter. Stash came a year and a half later and even though he was an accident (my best friend's pit bull was in love with Shady and even though the vet told us that she should be out of heat-the two managed to find their way around that idea and had puppies anyway) I kept him and found loving homes for the rest of Shady's litter. They are the lights of my life, my best friends and confidants! the most devoted and loving animals anyone could ever want! Thank you God for them! Anyone who wants to see pictures of them an check them out on my page in my albums.

Hello, Everyone! April 20, 2009 12:06 PM

My name is Sharon, and we just lost our American Staffie, Asa Spades this week. I am incredibly saddened, but she was rescued at 5 months, then re-rescued at 9 years, and I know she had a good life (well, parts of it!). We did everything we could for her, and gave her the best of everything. It makes my heart happy that she passed of cancer at an older age (15!!), and not passed because she was taken from us because of ignorant BSL, or hit by a car or something tragic and horrible. We have been fighting for the rights of the Pit Bull Terrier for many years, and now we are trying to focus all of our energy into the positive, and starting the Asa Spades Foundation. We will have petitions, info and the like up soon, when we are ready to move forward. Nice to meet all of you, and hope to have long lasting friendships. Until they are all free, Sharon & Asa Spades
