Hey there, I'm Christine and am currently living in Ardoise NS. I grew up in NB and have travelled all over this awesome country that we call home. I love every bit of it and am really proud to say I AM CANADIAN.

It seems I've joined when there is some discussion of if the group is going to keep going or not....  I trust it stays open . There is alot of information in your group right now that others out there are reading. If we as a group can teach others from other countries that Canada actually has 4 seasons and doesn't have snow year round except up north in places and is a really special place. I believe that even if we reach 1 person, it would be worth it!

I didn't see this question!   I hope this isn't continuing to be a problem for you, Wil.  As far as I know, it was a temporary glitch I think the engineers already resolved....

WELCOME TO THE GROUP!

I have a question.... December 04, 2006 4:13 PM

Often when I got to post in a thread rather than be taken to the REPLY page I'm taken directly to the "Discussions" main page.... has anyone else experienced this and if so is it maybe just a case of "Firefox" vs "IE"?

Just wondering.....

Wil

anonymous Hi Mongi :) November 03, 2006 11:34 AM

to the group!  I see you're a relative newcomer to Care2, having just joined on August 16.  Welcome to the site!

We do have a lot going on here, as you've seen, and we're always looking for input from members as to what improvements or changes to make that would make this group even more enjoyable to be in.

For a quick tour, I recommend checking out the Group Directory, Mongi.  That will provide you with direct-access to many of the threads here.  Also, if you have any suggestions or general feedback you'd like to offer, please do feel free to do so by starting a thread.

I like what the group is about. Above all promote peace, as I read in Wolf´s statement. And Canada is fun, to put shortly.

My plans have been to go to Cape Breton also.  I'm going to be firm with myself and go next spring.... no excuses.  If you're ever down this way (Vancouver area)  dont hesitate to let me, or any westcoaster here know, and we would be happy to help with travel plans.........   of course I'm the only one here that I know of that plays a fiddle.  [report anonymous abuse]

HellooOOoooo Norm! September 05, 2006 1:58 PM

And everyone else, too!

Being an Alaskan is like being *almost a Canadian*!

I have great affection for Canada, and have traveled some in the Yukon. Of course I did the ALCAN driving up here originally, but that was way too fast a trip! I definitely wanted to linger in BC and visit a while.

But more than that, what I want to do is either: a) buy the $500 train pass to travel all over Canada for a month, and/or b) go by car because the train won't let me take my dog! Cape Breton is way up on my places to visit, since I'm a fiddler and professional musician. I can always learn more and Cape Breton is definitely the place to do that. I've also had fun times fiddling with some French Canadian musicians I met in Dawson and wouldn't mind meeting more of the same.

My Scottish ancestors entered the Americas through Halifax, so that's a must-visit as well. I'm sure I'll find all kinds of great people and places. I just need to get my ducks in a row so I can go.

anonymous  May 09, 2006 10:02 PM

As I was told to Norm the other day, in the Canadian's Government website appeared that most newcomers to Canada tend to settle in the three biggest cities (Toronto, Montréal & Vancouver). But many newcomers and Canadians choose to live in the medium-sized cities (Halifax, Québec City, Ottawa, London, Windsor, Sudbury, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina, Calgary, Edmonton & Victoria.) which they feel have as much to offer as the larger cities with a better qualy of life.

What do you think about it? I mean the advice to live in medium-sized city?

I asking you so because I would like to know were can I be most useful to Canada, in the case that the Canadian Government allow me to migrate. In a medium or big city?

I never been in Canada and I feel a bit afraid to live just along and without friends. In the past I already have lived for years alone and far from home, but inside Chile. Here I had been meet very good friends, like Elle T or Norm, but it's easy to meet friends in Canada as I been meet here (in Care2)?

Warm regards,

Rodrigo

anonymous About myself May 09, 2006 9:44 PM

Dear Norm,

Thank you very much again fo all your kindness

As I was told to Elle T. the other day I would you to know a bit about me....Well...I don't drink, smoke or use drugs, I'm never been in jail. I love the wildlife since I was a child, and I've think this love makes me study biology in highschool and later in college to study and to obtain both BS in Biology and Veterinary Sciences & Veterinarian underdegrees. My English level (i'll think) is a little bit low, and both my French and German just in a basic level.

All the best!

anonymous Reception Desk: Check in here :) May 09, 2006 11:30 AM

Whether you're a born and bred Canuck, or an immigrated Canuck from another country, or if you're from another part of this vast and beautiful world and you want to learn about this great nation called Canada,

Here you will find interesting information about our provinces and our cultures, as well as information about where to stay if you come to visit our country. You will find pictures of some of the wildlife that's native to each province, as well as Official Emblems of each province, and you can even learn about our political and economic structures.

And, just for fun, you can even learn to speak what we call "Canuck" language.

The focus of this group is to educate people about this country. Those who are considering immigrating to Canada can learn about our country's history, and Canucks can always stand to learn more about the country we call home.
