Arnold Schwarzenegger. The measure, which passed with no votes to spare, marks the first time that a legislative body in the United States has approved a bill that legalizes gay marriage. Schwarzenegger has not taken an official position on the legislation but has hinted that he would veto it. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2005/09/06/MNsamesex06.TMP  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

It's official -- the Governator is going to veto: http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/09/08/gay.marriage.ap/index.html At least the bill got further than it did last time, but it's unfair and very difficult for all those who have to wait to get legally married.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

The most irritating part about this is that the Gov. said he was vetoing it because the decision should be up to the people or the courts. Yes, that's right - the COURTS. But when that happened in Massachusetts the courts were taking part in "judicial activism." We just can't win, can we? 9_9  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
