Question...for anyone who has a idea or opinion... September 27, 2007 4:42 PM

How can people including the government say that glbt individuals cannot get married to the ones they love...is it just because that we are in love with the same sex??? One of my friends showed me her myspace and on it was a saying...should God hate me for loving or you for judging? If anyone has an opinion or any ideas they want to share please feel free to post them on here I would like to know what other people have to say????  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

My idea October 03, 2007 10:22 AM

It is the Church that takes issue. The Government is wrong to allow a "church" ceremony to become a legal contract. We should sue the government for using the word marriage. If it becomes a Domestic Partnership Contract then the problem is solved and the Christen rite returns to the church where it belongs. Aslong as we use marriage then the cristian churchs will fight and they can influence the government.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Ban Heterosexual Religious Marriage October 05, 2007 9:39 AM

Agreed! The x-tians believe that marriage is a religious contract and while that may be true from THEIR perspective, it is certainly not true in a legal sense. The ONLY thing that makes their religious marriages legal is the CONTRACT made when the couple obtains a marriage license. For couples to be denied a marriage license because of their gender is simply UNCONSTITUTIONAL! There's simply no other way to explain the bigoted and discriminatory state of marriage as it is today, which is why more than ever, we need to fight against the tyranny of Christianity in the US. Gay marriage should be legal in all states and it is absolutely MIND-BOGGLING that we even have to get into a debate about it! Marriage has remained a constantly changing contract since it's inception -- and it never was defined as a purely religious contract because of it's evolving definitions throughout history. For X-ian bigots to claim otherwise shows how truly SPIRITUALLY BANKRUPT these types of people truly are. time for change!  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
