Is the white wolf "good luck" like the white buffalo and the spirit bear? I hope so!

  • December 31st >Thomas Edison publicly demonstrated the incandescent light bulb. (1879) The demonstration took place in Menlo Park, New Jersey. The event was so popular that special trains were scheduled just so enough people could get to the demonstration.

dd HAPPY NEW YEAR Wendy and Sue (3 hrs. ahead of me) and anyone else who has already celebrated the incoming New Year! As you can see, I have almost a few hours to go yet.... can I stay awake?! Did you go to any fireworks or watch it on TV or just scream and yell and kiss with family?

Sue, that's awesome advice to open the back door first.... I'm going to do that. I don't want some remnants hanging around.

Thank you my wonderful friends, for such good times with you all year 2013. It is a real joy to meet you here and join with you on new happenings, jokes, videos, pictures, and of course when we get serious about our own lives and the world's animals. I'm praying for a lot of positive world changes in 2014 and I know you all join me.

With all the strong winds we have had I was not able to open the back door, well bathroom window, to let out the old year, although as it leaks I consider it open all the time, then the front door to the apartment leads into the buildings unheated hallway, it also has a gap under it with the icy blast coming through all the time.  So guess I can consider the old year got blown right out of here before the new one made it's way inside!  I was dozing on and off while trying to stay awake to get a big load of plastic recyclables washed and into the drainer before turning in for the night, so missed the change of years!  Then again it could be that I was sleepy because of eating Swiss Chalet Rotisserie chicken that was delivered because I spent all day and early evening on the computer trying to catch up.  Just heard we have had the coldest December in 100 years.

I hope however you all celebrated was fun and that we are all raring to go into the new year with a bright outlook and renewed energy to do good things for all living creatures and our beautiful planet.  Here is the pretty I tried to post yesterday, I've figured out that refreshing the browser and clicking on submit again works to get the pictures posted.

We recorded the fireworks in London which were spectacular, went on for 15mins., I tried very hard to be thrilled and kept pushing the cost of them, >gone up in smoke,to the back of my mind,> yet >80,000 children woke up on Christmas morning with no home to live in? in one of the wealthiest countries  on the planet.

Sorry Britain, You must do better in  2014.

Did like this little pic though xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
