Cats make great buddies for kids and Milly Moo, a sweet black and white kitty, is a perfect example of this. She’s extremely protective of her three-year-old human, William Dutton.
William’s mom Vicky says the preschooler is normally a confident little guy, but going to school makes him extremely anxious, according to the Daily Star.
On William’s first day of school at the Maple Tree Lower School in Sandy, Bedfordshire, UK, he was understandably a little nervous.
According to Vicky, Milly Moo sat next to the boy as he put his shoes on. “On that first day William was so nervous he just didn’t want to go. But then Milly Moo came over and sat with him while he tied his shoes – I could just see the fear drain away,” she told the Daily Star.
Incredibly, Milly Moo then followed the pair out the door and accompanied the boy and his mom on their walk to William’s new school.
Later that day, Vicky was surprised to find Milly Moo ready and waiting to make the 13-minute walk back to pick up William from school. And, she’s done it every day for the last several months.
Vicky says Milly goes about her day while William is at school but somehow knows when it’s time to head back to collect him.
While Milly Moo wasn’t particularly affectionate before William was born, Vicky says when she was pregnant with her son, Milly used to stroke her paw on Vicky’s belly as if she knew her future buddy was in there.
Milly Moo and William obviously still have that sweet bond. “She’s his best friend,” Vicky says.
