Lynn, thanks for this awesome link! I love Mark Twain, and there are so many other pictures and quotes in there! OH BOY... a goldmine! Thanks, sis! I'm still listening to that special meditation you posted. I will put that on every new meditation thread for easy access.

Brenda, let's take off and hit the road and find that gorgeous little house with the flowered roof to live in!! Anyone else want to come?

Lynn, I LOVE the Reba video. For everyone who watched that, you will, of course, have realized that "PEACE" was the focus word said over and over and over.... and that became a mantra or a CHANT. Not much different than Tibetan monks do in monastaries and many other people who are deeply involved in a meditational lifestyle do. It takes the mind off everything else running around in your head and places it in a meditative mode. Lovely! And I love "GOD'S PHONE NUMBER"... thanks so much for these posts. I haven't listened to the videos yet as it is so late, but I will tomorrow so I have time to just sit and enjoy them.

Sue, I agree with Brenda -- just do what you can and don't place expectations on yourself. At times when I've disappeared into serious depression, I am unable to do much of anything, and usually I don't care about much. That's just what depression does. When I come out of it I'm happy to be alive and take one moment or thing at a time. One day you will feel like getting those angels out where you can see them. Sometimes those things just hit us and "now is the moment" type of thing. Until then, just try to be good to yourself in every way you can. Just like your beautiful pictures says.... "Never stop believing."   Besides that, I believe you have an angel watching over you... I really do!

GOD'S "PHONE" NUMBER

Hello God, I called tonight to talk a little while,
I need a friend who'll listen to my anxiety and trial.

You see, I can't quite make it through a day just on my own...
I need your love to guide me so I'll never feel alone.

I want to ask you please to keep my family safe and sound.
Come and fill their lives with confidence for whatever fate they're bound.

Give me faith, dear God, to face each hour throughout the day,
And not to worry over things I can't change in any way.

I thank you God for being home and listening to my call,
For giving me such good advice when I stumble and fall.. !!!!!!!

Your number, God, is the only one that answers every time.
I never get a busy signal, never had to pay a dime.

So thank you, God, for listening to my troubles and my sorrow.
Good night, God, I love You, and I'll call again tomorrow!

Lovely music Lynn and that video is amazing.  Thanks for the little break this morning.  Brenda, I never worry about cleaning, just wipe up the messy spills as they happen.  So nothing is really filthy, just dusty.

DO YOU EVER WONDER?

The instrument you will hear is the Erhu, a Chinese one stringed instrument with a haunting sound. These are good for meditation or just relaxing while you close your eyes.

Sue just do what you can don't worry about it, when you feel stronger then to clan etc. You are right about the cause of some of the flooding. Thanks for the beautiful picture and words.

Lynn, good video. Thank you.

I do have some angels around the apartment, but no room to put up the display until I get the vacuum working and clean and tidy up.  Have not had the energy for cleaning for more than a year.  Doing little bits at a time is taking too long to get it all done.  One of my sewing tables is almost completely covered with my painting things, along with many unfinished projects.  Need more rooms for artwork for sure.

Love the house with the living roof, wouldn't it be wonderful if all roofs were like that?  So much of our communities are paved over that we flood so easily whenever we get heavy rain as there is nowhere for it to go.

Sue loved the Flying Elephants and the Ashes and Snow Videos. Thanks.

Cheryl great quotes and pictures, I would love to live in that house.

Sue, pull out those little fairies and angels! What a great deal you got at the $1.00 store! I was going to suggest the $1 store because often they have little things for kids' dollhouses, etc. I will be posting some wonderful things tomorrow on the Fairy thread. Finding these got me all excited to do something!

Sounds beautiful, Val... wind chimes, last birds of the day... crickets... I would love to hear them at night. I really miss that. I sure agree with you and Lynn that there are many ways to meditate. I think it's what we get from doing it that's the bonus, however we choose to do it.

Beautiful - sorry but can't answer everyone personally - still listen to that music Lynn - have it bookmarked - love having it on in the background.  And I agree that everyone meditates in their own way - I do as I work in the garden, walk my Baby dog, pet my Bootsie or sing in the shower - I just do it also at night because I lay there listening to the wind chime and listening to the last of the bird songs for the day as the crickets strt to chirp.  During the day sometimes there is so much other noise around, that it is difficult to listen sometimes.  I meditate when I write poetry sometimes or just putting on a pair of shorts.  For me life is a meditation.

Hi ladies, I just came in to listen to Lynn's meditation link for 10 minutes to help me get some sleep tonight.

Sue, I am fascinated by all the ideas you have re the fairies, angels, etc. I found some pics of really simple little fairy gardens you can do. I will find them on my hard drive (I was in a hurry when I did the screenshots) but I'm definitely going to do something along that line. There are a lot of people, I found out, that really go in for this... little houses, chairs, kitchens, clothing... it's quite the thing. I shall look for them tomorrow!

Love the beginnings of your videos... that's as far as I got. Tomorrow I will bring my coffee in and get cosy and watch. Thanks so much for posting them.

What a gorgeous place to live, and I would definitely live in that little house. I am imagining myself there. It's wonderful... cool fresh air with a gentle breeze, sunny weather but not too hot, green grass to walk barefoot on (love that), mountain beauty to power over me with protection... wow... come on over!

Lovely pictures and links ladies.  Lynn that site is very interesting, will have to go back when I have more time.  Cheryl, we used to have a Liquidation World store here and they were selling off those dollar store angels and fairies for about $0.10 each.  I got loads of them and planned to do a display with them and some fake trees and grass, interesting stones etc., sort of like a Pagan alter, to help me focus when asking for help for people and situations.  I often ask the angels for help for people.  Never got around to it though and they are still hidden away waiting until I have enough energy.  Just have a few angels and fairies on display right now.  Funny we have almost the same idea.  Would do it outside, but with only a balcony that would not work well.

This morning was watching a video on You Tube and in one of the boxes this little gem was offered.  Seeing it was titled Flying Elephants I thought it was another CGI elephant video.  What a huge surprise that video was.  Just over 1 minute in I felt really calm and that lasted for over 6 minutes until the writing appeared on the screen telling about the video.  The 2nd one is over an hour long and I don't have time to watch it all today, but am posting both here for safe keeping.  (bookmarks tend to get lost on my computer as I don't always put them where they are easily found)  The images are truly stunning and the music I found is best listened to not too loud.  Enjoy.

Only got 4 1/2 minutes into this one so far, it is just as beautiful.

Hello everyone, love the graphics.

Good night everyone. I'm off to bed at 1:15AM after listening to the lovely meditation here. Sleep well, dream happy.

Glad you like the graphics, Val. It sounds like you have made wonderful time in your day to really get in touch with the good things around you. You are an artist, and artists have a way of being able to meditate without really calling it that. I want to see those bookmarks. I usually have about three books going at the same time! And as for those rocks - I'm keeping my eyes open for just the right ones as my crazy garden needs some ZEN in it.

Lynn, you are also an artist so I know you can meditate the same way Val does. It's funny that so many of us love the night-time when all seems quiet, phones aren't going to ring, no-one is going to knock on the door...etc. I really love the meditation link you posted and am finding it does help me calm down and get to bed a little earlier. Love your beautiful tag! A lot of time and feeling went into that.

I was just posting a belated happy birthday to a Care 2 friend and noticed this great little video on her page. So I thought I'd bring it here. It's short but quite nice, and the music is beautiful.

Nelson Mandela certainly made footprints in the sand, didn't he? When I look at pictures of him smiling, I just can't help but smile back. He was - and is - a beautiful, wise soul.

Cheryl, I'm so happy that you like the meditation link. It allows you to go at your own pace. I've been loving it ever since I saw it.

Val, it doesn't matter how you meditate or how you find your inner peace. I find it very peaceful taking care of my indoor plants, reading or just making my tags. I especially like it late at night when it feels like the whole world is asleep and I'm the only one awake. It's quiet and I enjoy it. I also meditate when I lay down at night after I read. To coin a phrase...."Whatever floats your boat."

Lynn - will go and look at now - thanks

Cheryl - great graphics - and you reminded me of my little rocks with words on them -writing on bookmarks I paint as well - will post soon

For me - I read inspirational sayings every morning and several during the day and like now - listening to quiet music while hubby listening the news which unfortunately I can still hear - then I try and spend a little time outside daily watching the hawk that lives around here, the clouds - everything - and then meditate at night when I lay down - I find it helps me a lot -

Love this thread.

Lynn, I am absolutely in love with that meditation link! I have listened to it for a few hours so far and it is going to be something I listen to every night before bed. Totally relaxing, and I love how you can have some control over what you listen to and watch.

Thank you so much! It's truly a gift.

Wow.... such wonderful posts!

Mary, that is so true. I think I've realized this over the past three years more than all the other years of my life put together.

You're welcome, Val. Thanks for the post. It speaks of the Law of Attraction and I am trying to practice that every day!

Lynn, what a wonderful post.... I started into the website and realized I need to sit with it for awhile, so right after I post this I will get my headphones and sit in the dark and totally enjoy this! Awesome find.

Thanks, sisters. I hope you've all taken time for yourselves today!

I just found this picture and have decided to find the perfect rocks to do something like this lovely, simple little arrangement... maybe with a fairy or two in there as well!

Take a Few Minutes to Achieve True Calm

You'll be surprised how a few minutes of true peace and quiet a day can do for your mental well being. Not everyone knows it, but we all need a little time a day when our mind can find peace. Sleep, unfortuantely, gives it little rest, as studies show it's just as busy during that time, as we are relearning, strenghtening memories and of course - dreaming.

This wonderful website will guide you, in just a few minutes, into a state of utter calm, while playing pleasant music and allowing you to choose between relaxing and pleasing visuals. I highly recommend using earphones for this and not speakers, as well as sitting in a comfy chair.

Instructions:

To the left, you can choose the length of the guided calm (first icon on top), or just play the pleasant music (second icon).

To the right at the bottom, you can change visuals by clicking on the left/right arrows as well as change music and control the volume. You can also choose if you'd like the picture to move or just have the music. Now put on your headphones, follow the audio instructions and find some peace of mind for a bit.

Click Here or on the photo to begin.

ff... or coffee, cocoa, or a nice glass of wine!  If we are to be good to and for others, we need to take the time to be good to ourselves.
