All one has to do to learn the devastating effects of pedophilia is to look at the pictures of the murdered children these people have preyed upon, to know that child porn rings are massive in our society, and to hear of the children (including infants who can't even walk yet) who are literally ripped apart (physically and mentally) every day.  I am left with absolutely no compassion for these men and also those women who facilitate them.  Yes, it may be a mental illness, but not one that any society should tolerate in any way.  Not everyone who has been sexually abused as a child becomes an abuser.  Pedophiles make choices to kill and maim with little or no remorse or regret.  Our babies must come first and foremost, and must be protected at all costs.

Jason by law any adult  peeing outside in public is a sexual offender because it is not normal for an adult to pee outside in public..Those caught doing this do,in my opinion,deserve to be,as you call it,labeled as a sexual offender.. Now if an emergency arrived and a person took precautions and did not show their privates that is a much different story as long as they were not in a public location..I have seen people run down alleys to get out of public view to take an emergency pee and I once saw a cop go down an alley without lights and come back with an elderly gentleman who still had not buttoned his fly..I walked over to both of them and I told the cop excuse me I need to talk to my grandfather a moment please..The cop said ok and I spoke to the old man and I said don't worry I will go to night court and I and my friends who are just over there will tell the maagistrate what happened..I yelled at one of my friends and told her to bring me my camera so I can take a photo of this dark alley..I then told the young cop his arrest would not hold up in court and he said if I didn't shut up he would arrest me also and that is when I showed him my ID...This happened in San Francisco on Drum street near an alley that had no lighting and the deeper recesses could not be seen by anyone from a distance.. I was an augmentated police officer who worked part time when I was not doing my army duties and my rank was lieutenant..He looked at my ID and badge and he uncuffed the old man..The next time I worked in my capacity as an augmented police officer I turned in a report outlining the actions of the young cop and in a daily report, almost a week later, I saw where he was reprimanded..There is a big difference in taking an emergency pee and taking every precaution not to expose ones self and just peeing out doors.. If a person takes a pee in a public place that person is a sexual offender plain and simple and deserves to be branded as one because the law is for everyones protection.. I have never had to pee in a public place because there are rest rooms in stores for their employees must also relieve them self and even in stores which have no rest rooms for their customers by law they must allow a person to use their employee only facility in case of emergency..

As I stated in my previous posting Pedophilia is a mental disorder and must be treated as such..A pedophile is a sick person and the sad thing is they believe they are not and even ones who are treatable through medicines often quit taking their medicine because of the horrible side effects of the medicine..Going so far as casteration is not really fair to the mentally sick person and the only thing is they must be kept away from children at all costs to include the sick person wearing monitoring devices..Just as a homosexual person has no choice over who they are a pedophile also has no choice..None of us have a choice over how are mental processes work but any mental process that is harmful to others must be dealt with either through medication,therapy or separation from those they can harm..It was not too long ago when people who had a mental disorder was locked away in what was known as a mental asylum and the asylum did more harm to the person than if they had remained with their loved ones..Each year more improved medicines for mental illness are found and more and more people who suffer from pedophilia are treatable through taking medication..I feel sorry for the person,more often male,who suffers from this devastating illness which has no cure..

Pedophilia is a mental disorder..pedophilia should never be considered normal, because it is truly a disease and there is no cure for this disease.. Therapy combined with drugs like SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), which includes Prozac and Paxil, works well for many people with other mental illnesses, but it doesn't work for most pedophiles. The best doctors can really hope for is to help keep pedophiles from acting on their urges. A pedophile has no rights under the law and does not in my opinion deserve any because of the lasting harm they do to children..When I was in practice as a clinical psychologist I had patients who were pedophiles and in each case none believed they were doing anything wrong but they believed just the opposite,they believed they were helping the child..Pedophiles must be kept away from any unsupervised contact with children by court order or any other means..There is no such thing as an innocent pedophile and only the innocent should be protected by law..

Someone can make the mistake of peeing outside and labeled a sex offender for the rest of their life. They are squeezed out of housing, not granted jobs and face great discrimination. People kick them off things like myspace. If they become homeless they are thrown into prison. If we take even more rights away from sex offenders we put our children at greater risk. When treated with cruelty and not offered help, a sex offender is likely to reoffend. Ask yourself who is endangering children when a sex offender is cruelly treated. It then becomes the community doing it. Many sex offenders were abused sexually themselves. Who was there to help them? Every single person has made many mistakes in their life. The label of "sex offender" is a kiss of death. Please remember this when trying to "stop" sex offenders. Hate breeds more hate. We can choose to use our heads and our hearts to find resolutions.

MySpace donates sex offender database to U.S. center

NEW YORK (Reuters) - News Corp.'s popular Internet social network MySpace said on Monday it will donate a national computer database on U.S. sex offenders to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Sex offender data is collected by individual state authorities. MySpace and background verification company Sentinel Tech Holdings Corp. developed a technology that combines close to 50 U.S. state registries, aiming to help police keep track of an estimated 600,000 convicted sex offenders.

MySpace has increased efforts to block convicted adult sex predators from the site, which is a meeting place for a large population of teens attracted to the service to share photos, blogs, music and videos.

In January, the families of five girls abducted by adults they met on MySpace sued the company for negligence.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) said it will use the new database to help law enforcement in investigations. Its local alerts are now incorporated within MySpace.

"We've come a long way from just the milk carton," NCMEC President and Chief Executive Ernie Allen said in a phone interview, referring to a long-standing program where pictures of abducted children appear on the side of milk cartons in the hopes a wider audience will recognize them.

MySpace struck a partnership with Sentinel in December to create the database and has been using it to identify, block or delete the accounts of known sex predators on its service, company executives said.

The database includes photo-matching software tools that can help authorities cross-reference photos or descriptions of predators against registered offenders, especially those who have failed to keep their registration up to date.

About 100,000 of the 600,000 offenders are so-called "non-compliant" cases, NCMEC's Allen said, making them difficult to track. A national database with the cooperation of authorities and businesses that operate online communities could help, he said.

Hemanshu Nigam, chief security officer at MySpace parent Fox Interactive Media, said the company was in discussions with other companies to use the database.
