Patriotism with style July 11, 2006 5:20 AM

Lebanese Patriotism
Feb 14 2005 Valentines Day, the ex Prime Minister of Lebanon Rafiq Hariri was killed. He was the man behind building up Lebanon after 15 years of war which ended 1990. Hence, this picture and many more like it became popular as a way of PATRIOTISM.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

...a picture taken by Nikolaj Bock, found at the site "norden". I don't know exactly where it is taken, but have often seen the sun set just like this, looking from Sweden towards Denmark. Thanks to all for contributing to a very nice thread! http://www.norden.org/nordbild/files/2005-12-13/med_Billede%20064.jpg  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

anonymous My back yard July 13, 2006 7:40 AM

back yard 2006/july

It may seem hard to believe, but this is right smak dab in the middle of a Urban city street. The home next to ours had to be demolished. That left an empty lot for dealers to hide their drugs and people to dump their trash. My husband and I couldn't take it another second. So we placed up 6 foot fences and created this wonderful oassis for our family and invited friends. It is my own little place to reflect and meditate. My vacation place with in my home so to speak. The murel was already there, but all of the plants and flowers were placed there by us.

Thought i'd share

Peace and Love

Margaret

Australia

This is a natural rock formation in the southern state of Victoria where I hail from. It's called 'The Twelve Apostles', because originally there were twelve rocks jutting out of the sea, but a few have recently toppled into the ocean...still the name remains.  It's a magical place.

Things might have been different now...

Peterborough is a city rich in history - just to the east, archaeologists have discovered a 3,000-year-old settlement at Flag Fen. Later, the Romans established a large industrial city to the west of Peterborough, to exploit the reserves of clay. The city's Norman cathedral was founded in 650AD, and the earliest part of the present building dates from 1118AD.

From South Korea July 16, 2006 8:40 PM

Hi Folks!

I would like to introduce here a scene of the Buddhist Temple in South Korea. Buddhism is still widely believed in South Korea especially among the older generation here, but a lot of young people and tourists visit these temples as shown in this picture during weekend and holidays.

Most of these Buddhist temples are located in deep high mountains in South Korea where you can enjoy the Nature scenes surrounded with them.
