and i would also like to see jail time higher for child molesters.. and no limit on the amount of time one can come forward.... but i also want those that are accused to get a trial..a fair one  [ send green star]

I think if you are convicted of Child Rape then you should recieve the Death Penalty.  No, appeals, no waiting periods.  Your convicted and withing a week death.  Absent knowing that will ever happen, I think serving a life without parole in a special prison.....that would do.

THE LAWS WHERE I LIVE April 25, 2006 8:24 PM

Hi, I am Lynn, I am from Nova Scotia, Canada. Here, rarely does an offender get convicted, children are very often just simply not believed by our authorities. We had a tragic occurance here recently when a 12 year old girl, was killed, then the pedophile killed himself. He had been a "Family Friend" for 20 yrs.!!! The mother had no idea the "friend" had 4 previous charges for molesting children under the age. We do not have a registry here for parents to even check out who the sex offenders are, let alone where they are. It seems here the right of the Molester is by far above the right of the victims. I don't mean to sound so negative but this really makes me angry. I think it is the MOST horrendous crime a person can commit, and should at least get them life in prison-no parole. They have already admitted that they really cant change them, at least they can keep them away from our kids.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

lynn i wished their were a public list where u live, maybe you should push for one start a petition for it..... many children could be saved.

althoe a public list isnt the only answer for parents it is helpful, and i think all parents should have access to it....

i also think repeat offenders should be casterated with a life sentence without any chance of paroll
