A good piece of advice to try before selecting your program:

"...take classes with many teachers to see what really moves you."

1.  Become aware of the various schools/branches of yoga - Hatha, Jhnana, Kriya, Raja, Bhakti, Karma, etc.  And then, get a taste of these various styles through participation.

2.  Devote yourself to your chosen school/branch of yoga.  (And then the teacher will appear).  Study with your choosen teacher for a significant amount of time ...(say approximately 3 yrs).

3.  Question: "Why do you want to become a yoga teacher?"  "What is it that you want to teach?"  And then, find a school that will guide to becoming "that yoga teacher."

4.  Remember the "kumbaka"
5.  Remember your intention.
6.  Enjoy the ride.

Wishing the best of all possible worlds,

Enjoying teacher training
I Have been teaching for a long time and am working my way through teacher training with YOGAFIT on my way to my RYT. Next weekend is ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY and I have been studying the text to prepare.KEY MUSCLES OF HATHA YOGA by Ray Long. I highly recommend it. The website of the author is bandhayoga.com and is chockfull of information. See for yourself. I now have it bookmarked for reference.

I started my teacher training through a two day long program (study supplies given a months in advance to prepare)through AAAI-ISMA (I did their level II training as well). I later took part in a 200 hr RYT program with the "Power Fusion Yoga" RYS (registered yoga school). Though I STILL haven't signed up with Yoga Alliance yet! I do feel it is important for people to get something more than a weekend workshop. It doesn't mean that more training makes someone a better yoga teacher or that less training makes them a bad one, but I think it is good to have the knowledge and a well rounded background. Anyway, besides this I have enjoyed personal study under some very inspirational "gurus" including Master Yogi Shanti Desai. I have loved my journey in yoga and constantly try to learn new things
