anonymous dreams May 02, 2006 7:00 AM

There are many different types of dreams here are a few to get you started:

Symbolic:these are inspirational and are your hicher self communicating. In these dreams you can soar with/like the eagles, swim with/like the fish, communicate with fantasy creature ect. Ususaly have intense imagery and/or healing experiences and messages.

Fantasy: larger than life type of dreams. Usually involve famous people and highly unlikely situations. Used to keep us from boredom and have a little fun or be overly romantic.

Spiritual: In these dreams we meet those who have passed on, sometimes loved ones and sometimes people we don't even know. Usually these spirits are ones we come to recognize as guides, teachers or helpers. These encounters happen out of love and are for our highest and best interests. Sometimes you may wake with a start like you've been shaken. In this case it is likely that you had an outer body esperience (obe) and the slam that you felt is you coming back into your body.

Archetypal: (term coined by Carl Jung) Dreams drawn from the collective unconsciousness. More on this to come. You can also get more info. on the collective unconsciousness from Edgar Cayce books.

Nightmares: We've all had these! They shock us into wake and serve as a wake up call, or kick in the pants, as to what is really going on in our lives. Hidden fears, things we've been putting off, or in a situation in which we've lost ourselves and have come out of our natual character and behaviour. When these dreams occur we must take a good look at our lives and surroundings. Perhaps there is something or a series of things that need to change.

here are a few other types or other names people use:

Preminition: an event coming form the collective consciousness.

Precognitive: this tell you of an event that's coming up in YOUR life. Like a movie clip of future probability. Time frame is unknown.

My advice to you: keep a dream journal! and most of all NEVER rely on those dream dictionaries. For each symbol in your dream is just as unique as you, what might scare one person may be soothing to another. figure out your own symbols and go from there. (this of corse will take time). Happy Dreams!

2 different dreams July 11, 2006 10:02 AM

Hey Julie.  Just wanted your opinion on these 2 dreams.  The first dream has occurred for many years, although I haven't had this dream for a while now.  It happens at my parents house where I grew up.  I would be letting our dog out in the morning and look over to my neighbors garage and there would be a werewolf standing on the top.  It would jump off and come towards me, just before the werewolf would get to me, I would wake up.  The 2nd dream just happened recently.  I was sitting at my parents house once again, with everyone in my family.  My sister and her husband Randy, were sitting on the couch, we were all talking to eachother and I pulled my sister aside and told her about my dream with Randy saying he was still alive.  She cried for a second then said thank you.  Any suggestions on these dreams?

Your first dream I think is funny only b/c I have had a dream where Steve and Kevin both turned into werewolfs. Anyway, it is said that when you dream of a place from your childhood you are going to the place where you feel safe. The question here is does this werewolf frighten you. If it does maybe it is symbolizing a fear of something you saw in the shed or imagined as a child something being in that shed.

As for the 2nd. You are just confirming to your sister that randy is okay now. Have you actually told her anything? If you haven't then it is my guess that your dream is telling you to.

Remember sometimes...dreams are just dreams.

Dreams coming True September 28, 2006 6:58 PM

Over the years I have had many of my dreams come true, or surface into reality.  It's similar to Dejavu except that I vividly remember my dreams and have even written them down only to have them resurface into reality.  Sometimes these dreams come true within a short time period(within a month). Others take years to happen but when they do I can predict what will happen next as I remember it from my dream.  For some strange reason I haven't been able to bring myself to change the outcome of the bad ones even though I know what will happen next from memory.  Is that strange?

Not strange in the least! You have no idea how many people this really happens to. As my instructor would say 'you have been blessed'. If you can believe this, this is what has happened. For some reason, maybe to try to prepare you, you have been given a glimps of the future. A future event that for some reason was important for you to know it was coming. No you can't change it, that's the whole point. It was to prepare you of the outcome. The only problem is, most of the time when we finally realize what it going on and that we've been there before it's too late.

I've had many dreams like this myself all my life. The only thing you can do is what you have been, but I would try to keep a system with your journal to document which one come true and the date.

Try also to start a dream dictionary. This is where you would write down what things mean to you. Example: a snake for some may mean that they are frightented, but for others may mean friendship b/c they like snakes. Do not buy a dream dictionary as they are really just one person opinoin and most likely will not work for you or give you a very general idea that mey lead you in the wrong direction.

I hope this has been helpful for you and everyone else who reads this!

you know when you have those dreams and think 'what the...' well here's one for you:

I had a dream that I was a guy about 35 years old dating a 50 year old widow. Blah blah blah at the end of the dream I told her I was a woman and we got married anyway. (insert great book to be written)

Anyway in the dream I took my hands and I cupped them around her face. Yesturday at work a woman came in for a passport picture and I needed to get her to look straight ahead so I took my hands and cupped them around her face. Then I looked into her eyes and she into mine and I thought "hey! I dreamed about you last night!"
