anonymous tools of divination May 02, 2006 7:31 AM

here is a list of different divination tools, you can try them and see what works for you. Remeber these are just a basic few there are many in this great big world and some have been around for centuries.

Palmistry: the art of reading the lines and shapes in hands

Pendulum: any weighted object attached to a cord that can answer yes/no questions. (I use my moon goddess necklace)

Liquid Visions: the art of reading shapes made by oil, melted wax, or hot lead once thrown into a bowl of water.

Scrying: objects such as a crystal ball, bowl of water, candle flame, or mirror used for focusing and to "see" images.

Tesseomancy: The art of reading tea leaves

Numerology: the study of numbers and their meanings

Tarot: 78 cards with various symbols, objects, and images that assist the reader in interpreting aspects of your life. (I do this)

Runes: different shapes and symbols drawn or etched into stones. Each has its own meaning. Runes can be used like the tarot. (Steve E can do these)

My great grandmother used to read tea leaves.  Also my grandmother *mom's side* uses a needle and thread and can basically tell you how many kids you're going to have and if it's a boy or girl and in what order.  She's good.  I tried to do it once, but it didn't work out, I haven't done it for a while, but who knows, maybe I'll try again someday  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

I use the pendulum quite a bit, plus I read Tarot.  The pnedulum works great for simple answrs as I feel my spirit is telling me what I truly need to do in certain circumstances.

Ive used pendulums, runes, Medicine cards and scry with my crystals. I love my pendulums for short answers, I just bought both of my daughters beautiful rose quartz pendulums for their birthdays..Ive been using my Medicine cards for about 15 years now, I love them. I could never get much into Tarot. Im just not drawn to it at all.

My mother used to tie thread to a needle and then push the needle into a short pencil to use as a pendulum, she would also tell friends & family how many children they were going to have and whether it was a boy or girl..thats funny Amanda, Ive never known anyone else that has done this before. I was always so fascinated when she did this, and she would talk to her friends about " supernatural " experiences,  its what made me so very curious about the occult, and all things spiritual.

I did a tarot reading for someone today and before I even drew the cards I knew what the outcome was going to be! ~That's never happened before.~ I guess my gifts are still fine tuning themselves!  I missed by class night on Friday because I had to work late, mmmm maybe that's why I've been so intuitive lately when I comes to my friends from that class. They missed me as much as I missed them!
