Butterfly Lessonlil butterfloat

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared, he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no further. So the man decided to help the butterfly by taking a pair of scissors and snipping off the remaining bit of the cocoon shell.

The butterfly then emerged easily, but had a swollen body and small shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time. Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.

What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand, was that the restricting cocoon shell and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were its Creator's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If our Creator allowed us to go through life without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as we should be if our abilities were tested without obstacles. We could never fly nor grow.

That was AWESOME Jazz! Thank you so much! Sometimes it is difficult to not interfere with our children's lives, but this story is a good reminder that we all need to learn the hard way and grow because of it.

I asked for Strength.........And Creator gave me Difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for Wisdom.........And Creator gave me Problems to solve.
I asked for Prosperity.........And Creator gave me Brain and Brawn to work.
I asked for Courage.........And Creator gave me Danger to overcome.
I asked for Love.........And Creator gave me Troubled people to help.
I asked for Favors.........And Creator gave me Opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted, and I received everything I needed.

Dance Like No One Is Watching

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage.

We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when... our spouse gets his or her act together, we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, or when we retire. The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?

Your life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway.

Here is a quote that comes from Alfred D Souza. He said, "For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."

This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time... and remember that time waits for no one.

So stop waiting until you finish school, until you go back to school, until you lose ten pounds, until you get married, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, summer, fall, or winter, until your song comes on, to decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy...

Happiness is a journey, not a destination.

Think of Those Who Love You"

If someone should hurt you and say a thing unkind... Remember what I write to you and keep these thoughts in mind.

For everyone who makes you cry, there are three to make you smile... And a smile will last a long, long time, but a tear just a little while.

Don't let someone who hates the world cause you to hate it too... Behind the clouds is a Golden sun, and a sky that's full of Blue.

If someone said a thing that's cruel, don't let it get to you... Your achievements are greatly numbered and your faults are very few.

So if a certain person should act a certain way, Think of those who love you and don't let it spoil your day!
