I know you're indisposed at the moment, but I just saw your plea for some sinus/allergy help...
I prefer holistic and herbal remedies myself, and would be happy to share with you what works for me, and my family.
First of all, I cleanse the sinus with a neti-pot... drink plenty of clear fluids... no sweets(they distract the body from the healing business with the entertainment of pleasure - I take care of how my energy is gathered and spent - just the witch in me, I suppose) and I take an herbal tincture my medicine woman makes from beggars-ticks (biddens)... I haven't seen anything quite like it on the shelves of my local health-food store... but I would be open to trying any of the herbal tinctures (potions) meant to support sinus health.
hey,be careful of eating chocolate and reading posts at the same time,as i oded on it.and the cure is great, but oh the pain before hand.

That's why I rarely buy the things I know are gonna call my name late at nite!
I know I'm going to get hungry & deal with it better if I plan & keep the better choices stocked up. I like to have a little of the new slow churned ice cream along with a handful of dried fruit & maybe some almonds. That way I have to eat it slowly, I still get to enjoy ice cream, & the fruits & nuts are something I feel ok about snacking on.
I generally fall asleep fairly quickly, although it's hard to say if I have a problem, I just take it for granted that I WILL be up late reading, or online, until I just can't stay awake anymore. If I was trying to go to bed at a certain time, say 10, then I would probably think I had a problem.
I do have a bad problem with midnite munchies, though. That's usually when I pig out on the ice cream, if I let myself buy any, or peanut butter and crackers, or something else munchy. Doesn't take much, really, but if I'm not careful, I'll finish it all off while I'm reading. I read somewhere once that the late night craving is really thirst and water will satisfy it, that's all I need. Already up a couple of times or more to go pee during the night, if I drank anything much with dinner. Sheesh.

Warm milk and honey work very well to calm and induce sleep...if you haven't fallen asleep yet, try that as a remedy. Also carbs; one friend and fellow blogger uses oatmeal...
I'll be up for another few hours June 20, 2006 12:10 AM
I have had problem sleeping for almost a year now, so I just go to sleep when I'm asleep. If you know what I mean. I go to bed about 1 am, and read a book, or listen to soft music, or watch some tv, and when I fall asleep, I do. I stopped worrying about it, and now the sleep I do have is much better. And I wake up fairly early too, considering. So do you wanna chat.....I have messenger, or wanna play here. I'm game.
