Enough is Enough October 27, 2008 5:54 PM

Enough is enough!  I took my grandson for his first visitation today with my daughter and her boyfriend, and now I completely understand why more people do not get involved with helping children.  It is not that people do not want to help, but that CPS and the Foster Care System makes it so hard for them to help; and once I go through these few points, you will understand why my blood pressure went sky high today.

1.  CPS nor the Foster Care worker set up appoints as to what time would be good for me and my grandson, they just call and tell me what time to be there.  I am always there, and then they treat me like I am the bad person.  When I took my grandson for his visistation with his mother and father today, the Foster Care worker told me that it was from 10am-11am, so my Aunt and I left and went shopping.  Now Leesville is a small place, it takes 10 minutes or less to get from one side of town to the other.  At 10:50 am my cell phone was ringing, it was the Foster Care worker wanting to know where I was at that the visit was over.  She didn't tell me to be back at 10:50, she said 11am.  But, she gave me attitude and was very rude.  I walked through the OCS doors at 11am exactly to get my grandson.

2.  Knowing we live a good ways from town, they set him up with a 10am visit and a 3:30pm abuse physical at the doctor's office (without asking me if those times were ok, and a week after the fact of him supposing to have already had this physical!).  So, my Aunt and I keep him in town all day, and we get to the doctor's office at 2:30pm, hoping that we will be seen early.  Well, we wait and we wait and I am informed that they are waiting on the social worker.  So, by 4pm I am calling the OCS office to see where the social worker is, I just had gotten my butt chewed out for being on time earlier!  The social worker who was suppose to be there had taken the day off and had not rescheduled his appt or informed us!  Now how is that responsible?  Don't they call that neglect on a parent's part?  So, we had to wait for them to send another worker..we were the last ones out of the doctor's office before they closed!  Talk about abuse!

And, this is just some of the stuff I have been having to deal with from these people, now I more than understand why more people don't get involved unless it is to help their grandchildren or family!  These people make it so tough!

WHY CAN'T YOU TELL THEM HOW YOU FEEL. THEY ARE PEOPLE LIKE YOU AND ME YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT THEY SAY GO TO       THEIR  SUPERVISORS. IT'S YOUR GRANDSON.
