Knock Knock... May 23, 2006 12:22 PM

Is it o.k. for me to join this group?

I can't find anyother one that I fit into (apart from the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Group) that I started and have only me and one other Grandparent in it.

My name is Wendy. I was a solo Mum to 2 sons, now aged 30yrs and 23yrs *forever* and now I am a solo Nana to 2 grandchildren (been raising them for over 3yrs now) till they are both old enough to leave home.

My beautiful grand-daughter will be 5yrs old at the end of June (off to school) and my handsome grandson will be 4yrs old at the beginning of August.

P.S. I turn 51yrs old at the end of June. I share the same birthday with my grand-daughter.

Looking forward to been a member of this group.

Take care

Wendy A

Hi Leonna,

My baby is 17 and a beautiful young lady.  I have another daughter of 22, a son of 20 and a son of 28.

Although they are not 'young' they still need help and guidance from mum and dad.  I find having children around keeps my young.  I am looking forward to grandchildren someday to continue blessing me with their youth.  I can't imagine not having children in the house.

I imagine my daughters will be at home for a few years yet.  Toria will be doing her post-secondary studies locally so will be at home for another six years at least.  I look forward to every day of it.

hugs, Ruth

Older Mom & Dad in Kansas July 14, 2008 9:33 AM

David is 50, I'm 51. Been married 27 years. Had our first kids (boy/girl twins) when I was 37, second son when I was 41 and our youngest daughter at 43. Kids are now; 14, 14, 10 and 8 years old.

And yes when we go to events; school activities, soccer practice, scout meetings..., We are almost always the oldest parents there, in fact some of the parents in my youngest daughters class are younger then my nieces and nephews and young enough to be our kids.

Been mistaken for thier grandparents many times (bothers me more then it does Hubby).

We are near Kansas City and operate a business together.
