The Bergen County Animal Shelter in Teterboro, New Jersey is ALWAYS packed to capacity with cats, even though at this time only a small fraction of them are listed on Petfinder. Undoubtedly, there are even more at the shelter. So many of these sweethearts are seniors, who are lonely and confused. They don't know why they've lost their loving homes. They only know that they're in a cage in a noisy place and they desperately want to be part of a family again. Can't someone give some of these sweet seniors a home?

Tom is one large guy. He is about 9 years old and front declawed. Tom would prefer to be an only cat. He likes to have cat nip toys, it is so cute to see him grab it and lick it!!! He is up to date with shots and has tested negative for Feline Aids and Feline Leukemia. ID 63094

Lulu is a very special girl. She is 7 years old and was turned into the shelter when the kids were not treating her well. They were sitting on her and tormenting her. It took Lulu only a week to gain her trust in our staff. She is cautious at first, but after you make friends with her, she is a great buddy. Lulu is front declawed and up to date with shots. I'll be honest. This cat is horrible. We got him at 8 weeks old and he was cute as a button and followed me around everywhere. Now, he hides around the corner and stalks me. He waits until I walk by him and he latches on to my leg and drags behind me. We dont let him sleep with us at night anymore because he takes up more space on the bed than both myself and my husband and now he bangs his head on the door and howls until we either let him in or we have to stumble around at 3 in the morning chasing him away so we can get some sleep.

He jumps on our table and sleeps on the bathroom counter. He knocks over his water dish constantly so we have to give him fresh water multiple times a day. He drinks out of the toilet all the time anyways so I have no idea why he has to make a big deal out of having fresh water in his bowl if he never even drinks it. He plays with his dry cat food. He picks up a few pieces out of his bowl and drops them on the floor and then swats them around until he gets bored, eats them, and then starts all over again.

He will play in his litter box and throw litter and poop all over the floor so we end up stepping in it. We clean out the litter box every 2 days so its not like it is overflowing with crap. He takes naps in his litter box sometimes too so you can imagine how disguisted we are with having him run around the house.

We have to keep our closets shut because he likes to sneak into them when we arent paying attention and swats at our clothes, latches onto them and swings on them until the hangers break. Im getting tired of replacing hangers and picking up clothes off the floors.

I am looking for someone to take him that has a sense of humor. Someone who is patient, loving, and preferrably has a huge bed (for your sake). We love him to death but we cant handle him anymore. He is my baby but I dont have the time to deal with his crazy personality as I have a 7 month old son who has enough personality for the whole house.

I am only asking for a reasonable rehoming fee because as much as I am ready to run him over with my car, I still want to make sure he will go to someone who will love him dearly and maybe tame him. He has had no shots and isn't fixed(which could be why he is so rambunctious) I will give you his litter box. He does not come with the toy in the picture because he broke it. He plays with everything (paper balls are his favorite) so he doesnt really need expensive cat toys. He improvises and plays with almost anything. Please help me and take my cat. Rehoming fee $15.

TAYLOR SURE HAS PAID HER DUES! Taylor is our long timer. She has been with us since November of 2005. This girl came to us as a stray and she had a flea collar on that had become embedded. She had to under go surgery to remove the collar and it took almost eight-nine months for her to heal. Taylor is a quiet cat that is not very demanding. She seems to take life in stride and keeps to herself. She is good with people including children but she is on the independent side. Taylor is spayed and ready for a home of her own……she does not want to live at the shelter forever! Please consider giving this petite tortie girl with the big gold eyes a home! This cat is approx 3-4 years old.

Lots of really super duper cute cats and kittens at Laporte who are looking for immediate placement!!!  I have personally loved on each one of the these babies and can tell you that they are all angels, loveable and we would all be lucky to have such great babies as pets!  Please remember that LaPorte is a very tiny shelter and receives very limited help with the cats.  Because of their location, no one drives out there to adopt- they really, really need our help!!!
 
I think that Lainey might be pregnant- can any of the rescues please help her sooner rather than later!?!?!  She is still very early on!!!!
