Korean food dogs - Video and plea for help

Was the video below already posted on the forum? I haven't seen it yet
and it is beyond imagination. It shows  how Koreans hang  2  dogs for human consumtion.
An absolutely nightmare. The dogs are dying very slowly and you see how they struggle. Watch it only if you are sure you can take these images.

Sample letter

Dear President Roe;

We have learned from our Korean colleagues that Prime Minister of South
Korean announced the Korean Government's Official Policy to make the killing
of dogs for human food consumption legal. Also, the South Korean
Government is revising the Animal Protection Law to

It is our understanding that under current Korean law dogs are not specified
as "livestock" for human food consumption, hence the slaughter of dogs for
human food consumption is NOT LEGAL.

Is it the intention of the Korean Government to use the pretext of
protecting the public's health to make the Black Market Practice of killing
dogs for human food a legally condoned activity?

While the Korean people are taking dogs into their homes as companions by
the millions, does Korean Government really believe those millions of
Koreans want their government to legalize the killing of dogs for food?

All over the world, government policy has been to reduce the number of
animals that are killed for human consumption, not to mention the banning of
dog meat. Is it true that the government of South Korea intends to
stand-alone against the overwhelming tide of world opinion?

We formally request that your government stop pursuing this regressive
policy and furthermore, we strongly urge your government to join other Asian
countries that had already made the consumption of dog meat illegal.

Yours truly,

Cheap Trick
CHEAP TRICK
BY KOREAN GOVERNMENT
TO LEGALIZE DOG MEAT!

Korean Government's "Cheap Trick"

On March 9th 2005, the Prime Minister of Korea announced the Sanitary
Management Policy of Dogs for Meat. It is the first step the Korean
Government is taking to legalize the slaughter of DOGS for human
consumption.

This policy was announced after the Korean Government informed Korean Animal
Protection Groups that the Government would not pursue this policy and told
them to stop sending petitions to oppose the policy of legalizing Dog Meat
in Korea.

For many years, the regulatory status of Dogs has been intentionally kept in
a state of legal limbo by the Korean Government. This allowed government
officials to placate local and foreign animal rights groups by telling them
that Dog Meat in Korea was not legal. While at the same time, turning a
blind eye to its' wide spread practice in Korea.

Korean Animal Protection Groups have been campaigning to make the practice
of eating Dogs clearly illegal and to properly enforce such a law. The
Korean Government, however, proved that they have no intention of making dog
meat illegal. On the contrary, they are taking the first step to make it
legal by re-interpretation of the definition of "FOOD" as "anything edible"
in the current KFDA's (Korean Food & Drug Administration) food safety
regulation.

At the same time, the Korean Government is revising the Animal Protection
Law that will separate Dogs for Meat and Dogs for Pets, and providing
legitimacy to Dog Meat Farms by requiring them to register. This is how
Dog Meat was legalized in some isolated parts of China.

IS DOG OUR FRIEND OR OUR FOOD?

Dogs that are slaughtered for MEAT in Korea are not just native dogs called
Noo-rung-ie, which is what the Korean Government have been saying to
foreigners. In reality, all breeds and types of dogs are killed for Meat in
Korea. No breed of Dog is safe from being slaughtered for FOOD in Korea.
