ATTENTION STUDENTS: THE DEADLINE FOR APPLYING FOR GREENPEACE’s LEADERSHIP PROGRAM IS MONDAY, DECEMBER 4th! Apply now to secure your spot in the Spring 2007 Greenpeace Organizing Term, a semester of ACTION, TRAINING, and TRAVEL.
Hello friends, wanted to let you know about an amazing program that provides college students with the trainings they need to be effective organizers and leaders. It’s basically a semester abroad with Greenpeace where they teach you the nitty gritty it takes to run a campaign; like how to recruit volunteers, run effective meetings, organize your goals, and all the cool stuff that makes Greenpeace campaigns so exciting; like how to talk to the media, hang giant banners, and drive Greenpeace boats. But you don’t just learn in the classroom, you go across the country with a real Greenpeace campaign and help to run it! This semester students went to Florida and Colorado to work on the Hot Seat campaign. Check out the website to see how well they did! Then you travel abroad to one of the international offices where you can network with amazing activists from all around the world. If you’ve ever wanted to get out there and really do something, see the change you are making in the world, the Greenpeace Organizing Term is a rock solid place to do it. They’ll give you the skills that will allow you to tackle any issue with confidence and ability, and hey, you can get school credit too. Let me know what you think. I can put you in touch with some alums who can tell you how the term shaped the kind of activists they are now. Apply now and tell a friend so you can share the experience.
