I've been a self-ascribed activist for many years, weaving in and out of solid action phases while always attempting to "be the change I want to see." I've sat on the Board of Directors for WPIRG (Waterloo Public Interest Research Groups), a collective of many action and interest groups. I've initiated two groups within this collective - "Tibetan Independence Awareness Group" and "Third Wave Feminist Discussion Group." I've been vegetarian for 6 years, and have studied Composting, Organic Agriculture, Sustainable Building, DOULA Birth Support and Herbology.
Currently I'm living in Korea, teaching ESL, and am finding it a challenge to continue melding my values (particularly vegetarianism) with the environment I'm living in. Not to mention the challenges in finding like-minded travellers and explorers of spirit and landscape. What I am finding lots of time for though is writing, poetry, art, learning a new culture and solidifying my life's goals.
Care2 is a forum for me to come to and simultaneously be stimulated and relaxed.
