What I do
I volunteer for House Rabbit Society, Prairie Dog Pals, and Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary. I am also the author or co-author of the following books: Bodies of Inscription: A Cultural History of the American Tattoo Community; Stories Rabbits Tell: A Natural and Cultural History of a Misunderstood Creature (with Susan E. Davis); Low Carb Vegetarian; Why Animals Matter: The Case for Animal Protection (with Erin E. Williams), and Encyclopedia of Body Adornment and Modification. I also teach anthropology, sociology and cultural studies at Central New Mexico Community College
