Misanthropic, socialist, ganja-smoking, wine-swilling atheist. Yay team! =D
Now that that's outta the way... **ahem**
I believe I am an honest, faithful, gentle and caring person with a strong sense of ethics & integrity. My sense of humor can be subtle and often ironic, if somewhat cynical. I am vegetarian(15 years ), progressive, and a critical thinker. I think of myself as open-minded, I've been described by friends as "eccentric." (in the best sense, I can only surmise!) I despise consumer culture, fascism, and religious fanaticism. I strongly disagree with the President who said, "there should be limits to freedom." (After all, wasn't it Mussolini who stated that the individual needs to be "deprived of all useless and possibly harmful freedom.")
I am more political than spiritual. I confess to progressive tendencies with a strong leaning towards socialist ideals. Pro-democracy, anti-communist, anti-free-market-capitalism. Registered Green. I sympathize somewhat with anarchists & libertarians, but am well aware that they are both completely out of touch. I used to consider myself to be agnostic, but I believe I could be more accurately described as an existentialist, or as a secular humanist. I believe organized religion is an effective tool of divide and conquer, although personal spirituality is fully acceptable on an individual basis.
I'm a believer in the necessity to recycle and/or reuse anything and everything possible. I aim for the ideal of a 'zero waste' lifestyle - however, I don't let useless junk pile up, I tend to be fairly clean & orderly - but not anal about it (I hope)! I'd like to depend on my bicycle almost solely for local transportation. I also try to avoid use of most anything that is made from or that burns petroleum - for so many reasons! I still miss my old VW's.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
I would switch the education budget with the military budget.
What/who changed my life and why
I always change my life, because that's how I live. Do you think you can change my life? I'll give you a chance to take part, if you're serious about it. Don't forget symbiosis is something neither of us control.
