Our Desert Storm soldiers will be coming home soon, and some have done two or more tours overseas for this war. I did not support this war. But, after several thousands upon thousands have sacrificed their time, their family relationships, their well-being and their lives for our nation’s safety, I support the troops! After all, they are only doing what is requested of them. We also have an enormous number who have returned permanently maimed, and we need to be considerate to all of them as well. http://youtu.be/ervaMPt4Ha0 A Soldier’s Christmas Poem http://youtu.be/sUGOjNsE4aY
A Murmuration of Starlings http://youtu.be/iRNqhi2ka9k Polar Bear Cub in the Wild (Recently, I have been researching two projects I oppose. With the Shell Arctic drilling project starting next year and the Keystone XL Pipeline project temporarily delayed, I have been concerned with the well-being of many Arctic species in the very near future.) http://youtu.be/zGFlzNs25x0 Silly & Humorous Stuff:
I am honest with good character. I am dependable, reliable, and punctual, as well as very self-respecting and hardworking. I practice common decency and respect with others. Despite being friendly, I do not trust people until I observe and evaluate them for a time. I am a good listener, and I am usually weighing people’s words as they are speaking. I am independent and can entertain myself because of being an only child until I was 12 ½ years old.
In my lifetime, I stood under a SR-71 plane, have been to a World Series Game and a Mint 400 (two-day) Race. I have ridden on the backs of motorcycles. I have seen the American and Canadian sides of Niagara Falls, picnicked in areas of Pike’s Peak, camped in National Parks, and enjoyed the beaches in California, Mississippi, Florida, and New Jersey. I graduated with “Highest Honors” with one degree despite being scared to go to college in the first place. I worked close to ten years at Tyson Foods, Inc. before pursuing my Bachelor’s degree.
I served in the United States Air Force as a pneudraulics specialist and worked on F-4D and F-4E aircraft models. I married a fellow pneudraulic specialist. We spent a year in South Korea under martial law due to a coup de taut involving the assassinations of President Park Chung-hee and some government officials. Within 48 hours, approximately eight people were murdered. Now, for a 17-year-period, President Park was a democratic-dictator, in the sense that, he never robbed or oppressed his people. He only killed and/or imprisoned his enemies and all opposition to his dream for his country. He was the only president after the Korean War who pulled his people out of the clay and the dung and restored their dignity by creating and establishing many industries for rebuilding their war-ravaged county. Even today, he is still revered by the people of South Korea.
We were also working the flight line on Osan AFB when President Chun Doo-hwan—who claimed he would only be president for a year until the democratic elections took place, but he actually took the power of the presidency—and a Republic of Korea General, Roh Tae-woo, massacred 165 university students—and possibly abducted an additional 65 students who are still missing and presumed dead—in Gwangju for demonstrating for democracy.
A few weeks before completing our 11-month-and-22-day-tour, my husband and I were talking about the government. We both thought the people of South Korea would never see democracy, but we were wrong! President Chun Doo-Hwan was president for a little more than eight years, and, then, General Roh Tae-woo was president for five years. President Roh’s successor, Kim Young-sam, led an anti-corruption campaign that charged, arrested, tried, and sentenced Chun, Roh, and others for corruption, mutiny, and treason. In 1996, Chun was sentenced to death and Roh was sentenced to 22 years in prison for the 1979 coup de taut and for the Gwangju massacre on March 18, 1980.
My point to this summary is that everyone’s military service is important whether he or she is in a war or not. America’s military presence often evokes the desire for other counties to pursue and achieve democratic governments and societies for themselves. I separated with an E-4 Honorable Discharge and later divorced.
My Philosophy
My family and ancestry were Catholics, but my father never arranged for or allowed me to be baptized. When I was in my twenties, I decided on the Church of Christ faith as my religion. The Church of Christ faith puts a great emphasis on Bible study, because the Holy Bible is its only foundation. It does not have any church doctrine whatsoever. As a matter of fact, one of my ministers was one of my Bible study teachers. He was a firm believer that Christians could not really develop a basic foundation of the Word of God without reading the entire Bible at least three times. Needless to say, this same minister also felt we should read the entire Bible at least forty times during our lifetimes. Well, I have read the Bible from cover to cover three times. Some sections I have read hundreds of times, for example, Psalms, but I failed the minister by not reading the Bible from cover to cover every year. Looking back, I am very grateful for the two to three years I spent studying under this man in Bible study. By the way, we are the faith that sings acapella in most of its churches.

Some extremely violent relationships awakened me to needing a baptism, desiring a relationship with God, and appreciating the angel that God had assigned over me.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE GREEN STAR..... I thought this an interesting video. It combines native wisdom from the famous speech of Chief Seattle in 1854 with the musical talent of the band Electric Light Orchestra's song The Whale in combination with the illustrations of the talented Susan Jeffers from the picture book Brother Eagle Sister Sky.
