About Me I am the Vice President of Development and Information Technology for a nonprofit organization, the Weidemann Foundation. I am responsible for all of their information technology needs, including training; troubleshooting; support; development; maintenance of current equipment; as well as budgeting and evaluating of future upgrades and expenditures. I assist with ongoing Foundation initiatives, including collaboration with the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) project in Tanzania, as well as day-to-day operations; fundraising; marketing; organizational development; research; and strategies.

I have a relatively unusual background, being fortunate enough to have spent much of my childhood in Africa, the Middle East and Asia, where my parents worked as social scientists. I have traveled to over 25 countries, experiencing firsthand the diversity that makes up our world. From the African bush to Indian bazaars, I was able to participate in the lives of people and their cultures; see wild animals in their natural environments; and observe the beauty of the distinct and fragile ecosystems on the planet that we all share.

The mission of the Weidemann Foundation is creating global change by empowering poor women, youth and families through microfinance and community initiatives around the world.

Our vision is to help build a world of economic and social opportunity that continually creates equality, access to resources and peace.

The strategy we use is collaborating with organizations conducting exceptional and sustainable projects in microlending and community development in order to maximize impact; and by helping donors identify excellent projects around issues or regions they wish to support.

My personal mission is to continue the project I founded in the Washington, D.C. area, Bridging Our Worlds Together, a supplementary after school program for "at risk" youth ages six through fourteen.
