Seems Canada got it right, but the US government doesn't quite understand what our "civil rights" are all about!
As an Air Force brat, I lived in 7 houses in three states (Massachusetts, Louisiana, and Wyoming, then back to Massachusetts) all by the time I turned six years old in the first grade!!

What Gives Me Hope
Seeing young children who do not hold the biases and prejudices of the adults in their world. It is too bad that adults are not forced to learn from the children -- kids don't see color, religion, ethnicity, etc -- until adults point it out to them. If kids ran the world, things would be so much better!!
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Provide total health care to everyone regardless of their ability to pay and regardless of pre-existing conditions. In addition, mental illnesses would be covered the same way that physical illnesses are covered, and catastrophic care would also be available. No one would have to worry about whether or not they can afford to buy food or their medicines...universal health care for everyone would be a given.
