My earliest memory is of my mother calling to me. At hearing hear voice, I wake up and climb down out of the top of the apple tree. When I'm at the beach, I'm at home. A Beach feels me with joy as I sink my toes into the sand and let the water lap over my feet. Looking out onto the ocean, I hear it calling to me, "Come and play with me!". I feel that if I can connect with the ocean, I can connect with something beyond myself, perhaps even with the universe. I try to carry that feeling of being at the beach with me, wherever I am. I try to slow down and nurture my higher self so that it can filter life for me. When I shove my higher self aside, information overload and extreme stress reach my inner being and it becomes a jungle in there.
Yellow Bear Journeys – an Eco-Tour Company based in Olympia, WA, designs, plans, and guides tours mainly in the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii with a unique focus: Restoring the hope, strength, and joy of the participants, and bringing clarity to their next step in life. Our journeys are designed to reconnect every-day people with nature in gentle ways that allow enjoyment without overwhelming the participants. The rich, life-giving ecosystems of ocean beaches and rainforests are ideal environments to refresh those beleaguered by a modern lifestyle disconnected from nature, and those who have a nagging suspicion they’ve lost touch with their truest self and purpose.
