If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Petition Congress to pass a bill requiring total transparency in the judiciary. Too many cases are dismissed without documented reasoning and too much money is collected without anyway of knowing where it goes. It seems to me that fines collectively from traffic violations should go to paying for police, fire and rescue expenses as well as infrastructure maintenance and investment. Fines collected for domestic violence cases should go to battered persons medical expenses and shelters. Animal cruelty fines should help pay for the upkeep of animal shelters, and so on. Where does that money go?
What/who changed my life and why
I had an attorney for a case that lasted several years. He explained much of the way things are in this country to me when I was very naive.
