I thought I would share this since so many stories have not been on an upbeat note lately. No matter how many times I have experienced seeing them I always remain in awe. This morning I was walking down my road ( a dirt road on Orcas Island) to the main road. Anyway as I was approaching the main road, no more than several feet in front and above me , was a (I believe a male adult Bald eagle perched in a snag, being really still) I approached slowly and said hello in my own way. Admiring the grace, the beautiful golden talons, and sharp razor vision. A moment later a Raven Swooped over him and perched.. then overhead another Eagle and some turkey vultures, since we have so many deer on the island and no predators, there could of been a carcus. Nevertheless I stayed with the Eagle. Even when I lived in alaska and saw them daily, the respect and love I hold for them never goes away. Knowing they traveled a long hard road from the ddt days to becomming delisted, and any sign of Raptors is an indicator that at least partly our system is healthy. Since I am a spirtual being following many Native beliefs, I realized this Eagle was a message for me. To remain above the mundane and always trust spirit. I am forever grateful.

I am here as a steward for the earth, to bring education to others and help bring our planet back into balance. We live in a sacred place where I believe we should learn to live in harmony with all living things and respect the animals that we share this earth with. In ancient times, the Indigenous peoples of this world knew how to be in balance and harmony with all animals, plants and rocks. Over the course of time this has been lost with industralization and our massive growth. Overpopulation is a factor in this crisis, and being a steward for our earth I hope to continue to walk my talk and stand by this mission. The world is in a crisis, yet hope is there for all of us to reach out and do our best to ensure that it returns to balance and order. We have a duty to serve an environment with integrity and love for future generations to enjoy.

An Eagle story to share

My Adoptee--whale, Baba L-26, followed by Balena her daughter, and Hugo, L-71.. her estimated birth year is the same as me, she has had 4 offspring of which only 1 is alive and that is Balena, all the others died. Probably due to Toxins in the environment.

One of my all time favoirte books is the Alchemist by Paolo Coehlo, if anyone has a dream that they are desiring to follow-- read that book--it is loving, heartwarming, teary and inspirational.. My other favorite book is the First Harry Potter book. It made me want to enroll in Wizard School... Life is magical after all.
