I'm a Southern woman all the way through, even though my accent is faded. I like to take care of the people who are important to me. I'm also an active Quaker--so comfortable with silence at times, while given to speaking up and speaking out boldly when appropriate.
(If you're not familiar with Quakers already, don't make assumptions. We're a more diverse, rowdy lot than you might expect. *wink*)

If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Get up-to-date equipment and computer training for all government offices so we'd stop paying anyone to watch a dinosaur of a copy machine chew its cud or waste an hour figuring out how to send an e-mail. Then I'd use the savings to fully fund domestic and global human/social services, including community education through libraries, museums, etc.
