I have long felt outside the mainstream of society in that I have never been able to accept the argument that you can't fight the system. People just don't seem to see that even one voice can be a powerful thing, especially when echoed by many. I must admit this has caused some strife in my life, and as such I prefer that before requesting to become my friend you introduce yourself so we can say hi. I know, I am awfully shy for a drama queen! Lol!
I am deeply tied to the Earth & its energies. I consider myself to be Omnispiritual, believing that personal faith in my path is what leads to enlightenment, and that this is true of everyone individually.
I have been a vegetarian for most of my life - for spiritual reasons. I do not condemn those who eat meat, but do not ask me a question about my choice if you do not want my true feelings.
I am a homeschooling parent. I never dreamed how hard it could be when you only have 1 child, and do not belong to the popular religious sect which is most active in offering homeschool support. Any open minded homeschooling parents out there who would like to strike up a conversation would be welcome - though being a homeschooler, you will understand, my time is limited. I am also an artist. I used to be a singer, but have a jaw problem which put an end to that. One door closed another opened. Luckily I find, I am never happier than when I have ink on my hands! It was meant to be.
Lastly, I leave you with this...Good, Bad, or Indifferent, the world as we know it has begun a change from which none shall escape untouched. It is the choices we make now which will determine if we have a place in the future or find ourselves lost to the past.
My husband and I got married on the spur of the moment (we had been enganged for a while, we just decided to do away with the drama), Day 1 - we got the license, Day 2 - we bought the rings & picked an officiant out if the yellow pages! Day 3 - we called a couple friends, & our parents and got married in our living room.
My Philosophy
It is not by the marks we make, but by the marks we choose not to make, that we are revealed.
What Gives Me Hope
Faith in Something larger than humanity, Green trees, birds & bunnies, friends
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
I would combine those studying global warming with those studying magnetic pole shift, so that we could begin to find whole solutions for the future.
What/who changed my life and why
The Herbert Book Series "Dune" changed my life by removing the scales over my eyes regarding the motivations and machinations of politics and religions. The movie "Bladerunner" gave me appreciation for life and all I have seen.
I Feel Again a Spark of that Ancient Flame... ~Virgil,
What is a country without rabbits and partridges? They are among the most simple and indigenous animal products; ancient and venerable familes known to antiquity as to modern times; of the very hue and substance of Nature, nearest allied to leaves and to the ground.
~Henry David Thoreau
