Optimistic--when I'm not depressed about what's going on in the world and in our government (Repugs!). I'm basically lighthearted, friendly, open, caring, interested in what's going on. I'm a "show and tell" kind of person with the gift of gab. My passion is sharing what most people are missing because they're busy making ends meet and are stuck on mainstream media. I feel it's my mission to help open their minds. Presumptuous? Maybe, but someone has to do it, right?
I once hunted (to photograph and survey) and raised rattlesnakes.
Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.
But help wherever you can when on shore.
What Gives Me Hope
It seems as if more and more people are becoming concerned--I hope they become activists. ;^)
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Now, see? That's the tricky part! I think I'd start the movement, with other mayors, then governors (I told you I was an optimistic sort!) to do away with the two-party system. Then election reform!!!!!! LOL! THEN I would have every mayor and gov. use local resources to make sure every hungry person was fed, while determining how to ensure continuation of the practice. Then the prisons would be DE-privatized and all prisoners NOT convicted of violent crimes would be released to support their families by being employed in green industries or by the gov't to clean up abandoned properties to create vegetable gardens or animal shelters. (Of course, marijuana would have to be DE-criminalized, as well!) These animals would be used as therapy for the violent criminals and the shelters would be used to train the animals AND train the prisoners in husbandry, food production, marketing, transportation, etc. so that they can contribute to society AND to the families they left behind on welfare! Those who cannot be rehabilitated can work as laborers instead of lounging around a cell--that's on a case by case basis. Let's get REAL!!! These would not be the highest paying jobs, like those for laid-off auto workers or banking criminals, of course. But it would be MUCH more practical and economical than paying ludicrous prices to feed and house non-productive NON-CRIMINALS as we are now!!! I could go on! LOL!
What/who changed my life and why
Well, top two favorite movies are Reds and Out of Africa. Self explanatory? Also, To Kill A Mockingbird, the book and movie. Assassinations of JFK, RFK, MLK and John Lennon. All those people were major influences--also my parents who encouraged reverence for nature and animals, as well as tolerance and understanding of all people.
