I'm a fun-loving, compassionate woman who has a somewhat raunchy and sarcastic sense of humor. I am very loyal to my friends and family, and am looking for other people (men or women) who share my passion for environmental/animal rights. My aim in joining this is to meet others for friendships or other possible relationships who I can share commonalities with, as well as those who can challenge me and help me grow intellectually, spiritually, etc. I have a degree in psychology with an emphasis on animal behavior -namely, primatology. I'm currently in graduate school getting a multidisciplinary degree in conservation biology, ethology, ecology, and animal behavior. My ultimate goal is to work in conservation parks and establish havens for endangered species in Asia and Africa. I love to travel and in the last few years have taken two trips to Costa Rica (where I released rehabilitated black handed spider monkeys back into the wild), 2 trips to Mexico, and just returned from South Africa in September where I cage dove with great white sharks. When the weather allows, I enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities, and just like to have fun. I have more sides to my personality than just animal welfare, but it is a strong component of my makeup, so I feel it's important to put that out there. Otherwise, I'm very bohemian and eclectic. I have several interests that include surrealist art, cooking, photography, cultural anthropology, buddhist principles, etc.
I still shock those who have known me for years...you never know what impulsive thing I might do to spice up an evening! (within reason...I'm not obnoxious...just fun!)
My Philosophy
Don't be afraid to live deliberately. Carpe Diem.
What Gives Me Hope
sites like these, education, mentors, friends, family, and an intrinsic knowledge that it everything has the potential for change.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Let me put it this way: my cabinet would be made up of individuals such as the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Obama, conservationists, and other wise individuals. I'd give tax breaks to those that volunteer, implement it in schools, change the educational system currently running in the US, and give people more vacation time to spend with their families, friends, volunteering, relaxing, etc. :)
