Karen Rosenfeld, the Ottawa Valley Dog Whisperer
For all that a dog is & all that a dog can be. To strengthen our bond with dogs. To help mitigate injustice. Dogs are very intelligent, sensitive beings - more so than most people realize. Dogs can help us see what we missed seeing, what we missed understanding the first time around. They give us a chance to learn about ourselves, about nature. If you pay attention - look, listen, feel, be aware they can teach you how to be a better human being.

Wild Fact About Me
My Philosophy The starting point, the very core of teaching a dog to be a good dog is not about habituating a dog to sit, stay or lie down. Teaching a dog to be a good dog starts with educating the human about the true nature and requirements of the dog. Dogs can teach us something new every day...we just have to be open and attentive to what they are trying to tell us about themselves, about ourselves.

I work with the psychology of humans & the psychology of dogs to make the human-dog relationship what it should be. I undo the damage done when people inadvertently bring out the wrong behaviours in their dogs. I train people, I coach and mentor their dogs.

Most dogs, will instinctively know what they are being asked to do if they are communicated with & shown in the right way at the right time, provided with the right tools to navigate safely and confidently through situations.

If the dogï¿Â&fra
c12;s guardian has not learned how to read their own dog, is not aware of their own state of being when they are interacting with their dog - the direction to their dog can end up being completely different than what was desired. The impact of such inadvertent mistakes in communication can be profound & exponentially harmful.
What Gives Me Hope Walking in the woods, being surrounded by nature. When I see a dog that was misunderstood, finally understood by it's humans.
