My Biggest Obstacle In Life Right Now Is This.....

I'm incessantly looking for grants and scholarships to fund my education, my unmet need this semester was around $5,000...I'm convinced that if there are scholarships for students for no other reason than their athletic ability or the color of their skin, there has to be funding for a person who's concerned with the world and all that's in it..And to me, the thought of loans at this point in time has become very cumbersome.

If anyone has any suggestions or advice, it would be greatly appreciated...Starting college and trying to figure out exactly what to do and the most efficient way to do it, after a 12 year break, not to mention that it is much different here than the town of 1,200 people I grew up in, LoL, often leaves me more confused and disoriented than I was to begin with. There's just so much stuff on the internet, and it's hard to determine exactly which options are worth the effort, or which direction to go to begin with, LoL...Any advice would be appreciate more than I can express. :)

What Gives Me Hope	Attending a multimedia presentation by Keith Harmon Snow called "Consciousness and Responsibility in the Age of Genocide" for school and witnessing the people around me trying to ignore his claims at first, squirming and uncomfortable, but eventually beginning to look, listen, wonder take in what he was saying...And then going to class afterward and listening to people ask questions about what they had heard, is it real, how can it be? Watching them really listening to the words of the professor....Think for yourself! Think critically! And feeling the wheels start to turn..I believe it's the closest thing I've ever seen to evolution in progress.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by	focus on America first.
What/who changed my life and why	Chad L. Matheny...Without him who knows when I would have realized there is such a thing as critical thinking, and Yes! I am capable of it! Or when I would have learned of Thoreau and other amazing writings, Phish and just how great The Grateful Dead really were, or that there really IS something more out there than our small town in Iowa..For more reasons than I could ever list..Because of him I made it to SoCal, and began to really LIVE instead of simply exist.
