Hmm, I hope the image popped up, it looks different on my page.
In light of all the elections I am just so disappointed in the country, but mainly in my home state. It just infuriates me that we are a country that "does not discriminates" and "separates church and state" and yet I have not seen any evidence in that! I am a citizen of the 21st century who is compassionate about animal rights and human rights. It is not just about women, children, racism, culture, gay/lesbian, religion, education, etc. we are talking about HUMAN rights. So that I what I am going to do.....lump it all together right now and say gay/lesbian rights is HUMAN rights. Who are we to say who they can and cannot love? It is appalling! Our culture is changing and we not eliminating problems, we are creating problems and hate and descrimination.
Okay, I am going to step down off my soap box for a moment. Enjoy your day and please, don't forget how lucky you may be if you are a white, straight, wealthy, intelligent, english speaking man. Everyone else.....good luck!
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
Make an education requirement in high school to partake in class simulations on different issues of the world. Like require them to simulate living in poverty, dealing with language barriers, "coming out" to others and family, etc. so maybe people would have more symapthy or at least a better understanding of life in someone esles' shoes.
What/who changed my life and why
September 11, 2001 (didn't it change most people?) and college because it opened up my eyes and mind to various different points of view to the world I had never witnessed or experienced before. I was stretched beyond my reality. This is even more real and true now in my graduate program to become a counselor.
