Who am I? I'm a wife, mother, nurse.

I'm a feral cat trapper and kitten rescuer. I do catch, spay/neuter and release on those feral cats. I have 6 cats myself, 2 of them feral kittens that I have trapped. I have a photo album of all the cats/kittens that I have trapped. The last cat to come live here was a dumped abused cat with a necrotic tail. I trapped him, realized that he wasn't feral, paid to have him fixed and his tail amputated, and brought him to live at my house. He's slowly coming out of his shell.

I'm also an avid birdwatcher, and my husband and I belong to The Amazona Society, a non-profit parrot fanciers group who supports Amazon parrot conservation in the wild. The Amazona Society has offered tours to various parts of Central America to see how our money has been spent, and also for us to see the various conservation projects that are in place there. We've been to Costa Rica twice and Panama once. We also go at least twice a year down to south Texas, which is a haven for birders who want to see tropical and neotropical birds.  You can check out the photo albums of my trips here.

We also own a Double Yellowheaded Amazon parrot named Buddy. We blame him for our insane junkets out to look at birds in the rainforest. We recently bought a baby Scarlet Macaw we named "Renaldo"  but he gets called Randy. My husband I thought we were getting a little bit of Costa Rica with that Scarlet Macaw, but it turned out that Randy is a Bolivian sub-species. So now we have a piece of Bolivia in the den.

I'm friendly, outgoing, and funny. My life is pretty much an open book, warts and all. We live and we learn...and I'm still learning.
