We formed this organization for our teenagers who have nowhere to go after school and on weekend nights to socialize while learning in our community. After school they have been choosing to go to the only places available to them, the library and convenience stores. This has proved no good for them, and this is why:
They are unsupervised and there is no structured program.
When they frequent these places for too long it is considered loitering, and they stand the chance of police involvement.
There is no form of entertainment in or around Greenville, no movie theatre, bowling alley, etc.For any form of entertainment, parents or teenagers must drive 20 minutes to an hour away, and for the teenagers, this increases their chance of incurring a car accident. We need a solution to this dilemma. WHAT IS THE SOLUTION? We need to open a program for afternoon activities during the week and Friday or Saturday night activities on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. They could enjoy battle of the band concerts after school and on weekends, perhaps learn from band members how to play their own instruments or get tips on how to play and get better. We’ll get local artisans to come in and teach the kids how to create different crafts and artwork.Off duty teachers have offered to come in to teach poetry and technical science projects. We’re envisioning business owners delivering presentations on how they created and maintained their business entities.
There’s no limit to the creativity that could be born from this effort.Instead of stagnating at home, the teens who aren’t interested in farm based school clubs or track or basketball could expand their minds. The perfect site for this program is the Town Park Barn located on Route 32 within walking distance of the Greenville Middle and High School. It is not utilized for any purpose, is completely finished off and even has computer hookups complete with Internet capability.FAIR is very interested in this site as the program start site. FAIR is in the process of incorporating as a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation.Once this is accomplished we will be applying for state and federal grants to obtain liability insurance and fund the program. Then the Greenville Town Board has said they will discuss allowing us permission to utilize the Town Park Barn. Please involve yourselves for your teenagers or those you know that might benefit.Attend the Town Board meetings from 7-7:30pm during open forum on the 3rd Monday of each month to raise support for the issue of this need.Donate to Fair.Volunteer for the FAIR Board of Directors or staff. If you’d like more information, call Kate and discuss things with her further. The future of these artistic teenagers lies in all our hands.
We have a petition. Please look over the link below and sign, if you're so inclined. Thanks!

What Gives Me Hope
That I will meet my deceased 19 year old son Keith again on the other side.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
If I were President (definately president) I would take the just enough from the rich through their tax cuts (and that would be plenty enough) and feed, clothe, house and medically treat the homeless. Then I'd go to work on enacting the National Health and Education Program....the REAL one.
What/who changed my life and why
My 19 year old son, Keith, because we were so much alike and he was becoming my advisor and mentor...and then he died.
