I love my 'charity work' and am currently the President of the Deception Bay Lions Club Inc! I have been a Lion since 2002 and I love it. I love doing work for and within my local community. I guess you could say that is the 'ground-roots' stuff. Start there, start small and you WILL make a difference! I am also a member of several other local community organisations which takes up a lot of my time, but not having a paying job right now, I have a lot of that. I have 3 children, all grown now. My youngest was diagnosed with ASD when he was 11; a lot later than most children. He is a great kid and a beautiful human-being; as are all of my kids! He is brilliant with computers so he fixes what Mom manages to stuff up now and then! Hahaha! One of the things I REALLY hate, are doctors, teachers and the general public, who don't believe in Austism - AS, or ADD, ADHD, ODD or any of the other behavioral or developemental conditions so prevalent today. I don't believe they are 'new', just that we now have ways to diagnose and understand them where previously, those people were just 'strange or weird or slow' and misunderstood. People with a disability are not stupid, so why treat them that way? {I'll get down off my Soapbox now, before I get a nosebleed! Hahaha!}
The Animal Rescue Site (USA) is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals.
It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "feed an animal in need" for free. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors /advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned and neglected animals in exchange for advertising.
Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.
