What does it take to make our home healthy and spiritual?
Gaia is the classical Greek name for the Earth, as well as the name used by James Lovelock & Lynn Margulis to compare the Earth to a living system.
I am in the process of making this profile, so more will come. I have also started a group called Eco Shamanism. Anyone who shares my concern for the earth's environment in a spiritual way is welcome to join this club. It is my wish that we together can create a small place in here to share thoughts and ideas about the environment and our spiritual connection with it.
Av Piet Hein:«Pessimistene er de reneste tåper, de tror på det motsatte av hva de håper. Nei, de optimister som livet beror på, er de som håper på noe de tror på.» And here is another grook by Hein, this one in English:
A SMALL THINGS AND GREAT
He that lets
the small things bind him
leaves the great
undone behind him.
PS. The icon I use as my 'avatar' here is made by the great artist Heather V. Kreiter (Shaman Soul Studios).
Gaia is the classical Greek name for the Earth, and it is also the name used by James Lovelock & Lynn Margulis to compare the Earth to a living organic system, which we are all a part of.
It takes only one little thought to create a huge change in people's thinking and attitude. We should all use this capacity to make changes that will positively affect our environment and how we live our lives.

Just wanted to let you know that I have returned from my trip to the magical island of Ireland, missed you and reading Eco Shaman postings while I was away from the computer
Arbor Day is America’s National Tree Holiday, founded by J. Sterling Morton in Nebraska in 1872. A day set aside to plant trees, educate people about the importance of trees, and honor the role trees play in our daily lives.
On the first Arbor Day, prizes were offered to counties and individuals for properly planting the largest number of trees on that day. More than a million trees were planted the first year.
This custom, so beautiful and useful, spread rapidly, and now is recognized by the statutes of many of the States. Arbor Day has become a designated day upon which people and school children plant trees and shrubs along the highways and other suitable places.
On Arbor Day, April 24th, in Memorial for our fellow care2 friend, Stanley Townsend, we will be planting an apple tree.
