I don't know your birthday or where you were born or even the circumstances that led you to us. But I do know this: You shared 12 years of your life with us. You are the king dog and our very first rescue. Everyone who knew you would say how special you are. You spoke to us with your gestures, your eyes and the sounds you'd make. We always knew what you wanted. You'd flip your water bowl over with your paw when it was empty and you were thirsty. You'd make that funny long sound like you were trying to talk when you wanted to go out. You'd bark once when a cat was somewhere they shouldn't be or needed to be removed when they were getting on your nerves. You'd role on your back and wave your paw when you wanted attention. You'd say MA-MA when you wanted me. My 100 lb. puppy you didn't know how big you were when you'd lay down on our laps. You'd choose one cat at a time to take care of. When Captain got sick you'd let him sleep with you. When he felt too sick to get up on his own you wouldd go in the room to get him. He'd follow you out and lay next to you and you'd clean him completely. The cutest sight I'd ever seen, a big huge dog licking a sick and blind cat like a mother cat cleaning her kittens. When I would cry you would come to me and put your head on my shoulder and would not leave me. Together we mourned your brothers Spike and Jo-Jo and many cats. I had to make the decission my puppy. For 3 days you could not walk or pee and you were barely eating but your spirt was so strong. You did not let us see how sick you were. A huge tumor in your chest and another in your stomache. Fluid in your chest and more in your stomache. The pain you must have been in. They waited for an answer and I did not know what to do. Cancer. Should we try to fight it? Would I be taking you home to suffer and die? Could you beat it. No. You could no even stand. It would be selfish of me to keep you here. Then I looked in your eyes and you let me off the hook. I know you were telling me it was ok. That you were ready. You would die the way you lived-with dignity and love and your humans by your side. We love you and miss you so much puppy. I know you are running around with Spike and Joey and Marilyn and watching over the cats for me. Keep them in line until I get there. It is so hard not having you here. There is an emptiness we will never be able to fill. We love you Stonie and you are forever in our hearts. Until we are together again....
Good sense of humor, intelligent (is that spelled right?!), dedicated, compassionate. Fascinated with human behavior, the human brain and why people do the things they do. I can't stand to see anyone or anything suffer right down to a fly. I love being in the world but can't stand how screwed up it is. I need to know that there are good people out there.
I have a ridiculous number of rescued cats( and 6 dogs). They have thier own apartments while I live in the smallest apartment.
My Philosophy
What Gives Me Hope
Acts of kindness. My love.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
I would make very raidical changes that would proably get me thrown out of office(people don't like real change). I would impose mandatory harsh prison sentences for animal cruelity, stop all unnecesary non-medical animal research. I would castrate all repeat sexual offenders. I would impose mandatory one year military service for all 18 year olds (lack of discipline, structure and social responsibility is destroying our society). I would completely restructure welfare by imposing time limits, making easier access and real assistance to those in true need and create a 'payback' system (with small amounts of money or time) once people have gotten back on thier feet.
What/who changed my life and why
David has taught me so much I wouldn't even know where to start.
