My name is Jenna Kandyce Linch and I am a child abuse and domestic violence survivor. When I was younger, my dream was to one day become an author. I followed my heart and pursued my dream of becoming a writer, turning that dream into a reality. Writing is the way in which I am able to heal from the abuse I went through in my past. It allows me to release all those feelings and emotions that I have kept locked inside for so long.
Through my writing I hope to encourage survivors and victims in their journey of healing. I'm an inspirational author and writer with 4 books out: Taking Back My Life: Poems From The Healing Heart of an Abuse Survivor, Still Standing Strong: Surviving The Storms of Abuse, From One Survivor To Another: Poetry For The Abuse Survivor's Heart, and Heart and Soul of a Survivor. I am working on my fifth book right now. Writing has always been my passion in life and I hope to bring a message of inspiration and encouragement to others.
I am the editor of Rising Above Magazine which is an Ezine I created to help give survivors and victims of abuse a voice. I believe every story deserves to be told and every voice deserves to be heard. I know all too well what it's like to not have anyone to turn to and nowhere to go, living life trapped in silence. The purpose and mission of Rising Above is to give survivors and victims a chance to share their stories, poetry, etc. and to also educate those who are unaware of the dangers of abuse and the damaging effects since abuse is one thing that does not get the attention it deserves in society. It's time that the truth be revealed and that we survivors step up and speak out, letting our voices be heard. There are so many voices out there that have been silenced for too long and so many stories that have yet to be told. I encourage survivors and victims to break their silence. Every survivor has a story and every voice matters.

love with all you have to love, give with all you have to give, take chances and risks in life because those opportunities won't always be there for you, make the most of your life because you only get one life to live.
What Gives Me Hope
knowing that I am helping to make a difference in the lives of other survivors and victims of abuse when I speak out and write about my own experiences; just knowing that I have touched the heart of someone else and given them hope in their own life to keep going gives me motivation and inspiration to keep writing and to keep using my voice
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
I would ensure there would be justice for victims and survivors of abuse because survivors and victims deserve the right to live a life feeling safe and protected which I believe is the law's duty, responsibility, and obligation to them. America was founded on morals and principles and I would do my best to uphold those beliefs and values that our founding forefathers instilled early on in this country.
What/who changed my life and why
There are so many people who have had a positive influence in my life so I really don't know where I would begin. I will say that my heroes in life are the survivors out there who are speaking out and sharing their stories, spreading awareness and doing what they can to make the world a safer place. They are the brave warriors standing strong on life's battlefield, daring to take the risks and chances to help save those lives that are still trapped in darkness. They are ones shining their light and helping to pave the way for future generations to come. Like a phoenix, they have risen above the ashes of their past and they have overcome many obstacles to get where they are today. In my mind, these survivors, these unsung heroes, are the most beautiful people I know. From them I draw so much inspiration for they motivate me to keep going in life and to keep speaking out.
My late honorary dad, Alan McEwen who taught me so many valuable lessons in life and showed me the true meaning of life; a man who never gave up on me but always encouraged me to go for my dreams, instilling in me courage and faith to keep going even during the hard times; a man who helped me to believe in myself again and helped me to see all the things in me that I just couldn't see; most of all, the Dad I never had who showed me what love is all about and let me see that anything is possible in this world as long as you're willing to fight for it and work hard to get where you want to be
