If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by Expel all politicians who try to "milk" the system, and encourage honest, but reluctant or confidence lacking "best" candidates to stand for election.
What/who changed my life and why Death in Venice (book) - Aschenbach's position, confusion and guilty longing struck a chord with me, as a teenager, as did his loneliness and sense of isolation.
